Sisterhood to hear 'Gizelle9 The Sisterhood of Congregation B'nai Israel will hold a general membership membership meeting October 12 at 12:30 p.m. at the synagogue. The program will feature as a guest speaker Gizelle Hersh, the heroine of "Gizelle, Save the Children," a new book on the Holocaust written by Peggy Mann and published by Everest House. The title of the book represents the last words which Mrs. Hersh heard her parents were sent off to the gas chamber at Auschwitz.

Mrs. Hersh and her three younger sisters survived Auschwitz, Dachau and a munitions factory labor camp. Since the publication of the book, she has made guest appearances on both television and radio.
