Our thanks are due the Agricultural Society of Wilson conuty, for the following complimentary resolution Resolved, "That this meeting cordially commends the enterprise ot Mr. Wm. H. 'The Depaetube of the. Delegation. At two o'clock yesterday afternoon, in accordance with notice previously given, tle.trr Qfov. TFrtA, which bad been chartered foir the occasion by theDeniocratic Club of this city, started off trom her wharf with the New Hanover delegation for Fayetteville. As the steamer left the wharf a salute was fired from the Fairbanks, Capt.

of the N. and Wil. line of steamships, an honor which was duly acknowledged and returned from the Worth. The latter steamer was gaily decorated with flags and banners, and the Fairbanks had likewise mounted her colors. A full brass band was in attendance and discoursed some sweet music until the steamer was beyond hearing.

It is estimated that, some 200 persons went up on board of her and a large number had previously left on the Hurt and the North Carolina. New Hanover will be resented at Fayetteville by at least 300 of her sons. A friend of ours requests us to protest against any member the new band being allowed to practice upon more than one instrument. He has been kept awake nearly all of one night by the tooting of horn; but regarding it as disagreeable necessity, had come to regard it with some degree of patience, hardly had he arrived at this enviable state of mind before the rub a dub, dab of a kettle drom irritated his nerves to so great an extent that he has come to the conclusion that the band is a nuisance. We would suggest to the Marshal the propriety of directing the pi lice to prevent the unpacking of goods boxes on the udewalk.

We learn through advices from Fayette-ville that a body of negroes banded themselves together, in that town, a few days since, with the avowed intention of assaulting and beating two colored legates who had arrived there for the purpose of attending the Convention, and who were supposed to belong to the Wilmington delegation.

They would not only have car ried out their designs, but moat probsWy have proceeded to ulterior and severer measures but for the timely interference of the citizens, who, determined to protect their colored friends in the exercise of their just rights, promptly placed them un der the protection of a party of white per sons. The Radical negroes were no doubt it ,1 1 -1. instigated ana incited oy some ueviusu carpet-bagger or scalawag, who, at the, expense of personal injury to them, would manufacture capital for political purposes. To these villains, we would say as we have heretofore said, beware, for the people of the South have marked yon, and if a difficulty should ensue by reason ot your counsels, then you will find out to your cost that the consequences will not be visited on the heads of your deluded followers afone -yem also will suffer. Messrs.

Tolar, Watkins and Powers arrived at Fayetteville, Sunday evening, at 7 o'clock, and were most enthusiastically received by the citizens. A large crowd, inclusive of the are companies, met them at the landing and escorted them to the hotel, where Mr. Harry My rover welcomed them in a handsome reception address which was replied to by Mr. Tolar, who seemed very much affected by r. the kindness exhibited to himself and companions.

A large number ot the fair daughters of Fayetteville testified by their presence their appreciation of the sufferings of these victims of arbitrary power. After the conclusion of the addresses, Messrs. Watkins snd Powers were escorted to their respective homes. John Merrick, a worthy colored man of that comrauni tv, kindly iSoifat dis tance below the use of a carriage to convey him to his family. On Saturday evening last, the fire companies assembled lor the purpose of hoisting a large and beautiful flag on a pole previously raised for the purpose.
