THE ITEM of Millburn and Short Hills, N.J., June 14, 1979 Page 7 Jewelry, silverware and furs stolen in town More than $7,000 in furs and an undetermined amount of jewelry and silverware were taken Sunday from the Gannet home on Kean Road, police reported. Make-Up Is Boyd's Herbert Gannet told police several fur coats as well as an entire silverware set and all the family jewelry was taken. Bloomingdale's security personnel foiled a shoplifting attempt last Thursday as three persons attempted to steal $1,300 worth of clothing from that store in the Mall at Short Hills. Mildred Mooney and Julia Sinkhaus of the Bloomingdale's security staff reportedly observed two women and a man in the act of shoplifting the clother. When they tried to apprehend the suspects, a fight broke out in which Mooney was bitten on the right hand and arm and both she and Sinkhaus were ,0 $500 watches taken.

A.J. Orsi of Springfield also reported his watch stolen from his locker while he was golfing at about 6 p.m. Edwin Brown of the Pingry School told police the school's sign was stolen for its position at the corner of Parsonage Hill and White Oak Ridge Roads June 5. The sign was valued at $275. Cathy Costlas of 328 Long Hill Drive told police more than $500 in jewelry and an undetermined amount of clothing and other items were taken from her car while it was parked in Gero Park last Friday.

Laura Gloster of South Orange reported the theft of her handbag containing more than $200 from her van which was parked in a parking lot behind Sara Lewis at 344 Millburn Avenue June 6. Several bicycles were also taken during the past week. A pair of bicycles valued at $300 were stolen from the Hillson home at 66 Whittingham Terrace last Sunday while a $225 bicycle was taken from the back porch at the Campbell residence at 96 Millburn Avenue June 7. A moped valued at $400 was stolen from the basement of the Mc-Donough home at 101 Knollwood Road last Sunday.
