Southern Mississippi passes to lead Grambling State to a 28-0 victory over Alabama State in the second game of the Atlanta Football Classic. In the first game, Morris Brown defeated Albany State 28-14. Landry threw a 22-yard scoring pass to Wayne Hill in the first quarter, then tossed a 17-yarder to John McFarland late in the second period. Carlos Ellison and Sherman Cowley, a pair of backup running backs, each scored a touchdown in the second half Ellison on a 1-yard run late in the third period and Cowley from 2 yards away eariy in the final period. The victory gave the Tigers an 8-1 record overall, 5-1 in the conference, and marked the 328th career victory for Grambling Coach Eddie Robinson.

Robinson, whose lifetime record is now 328-107-15, is the winningest football coach in college history. Alabama State fell to 2-7 overall and 2-4 in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. Landry hit eight of 15 passes for 92 yards. Hill led the Tigers in rushing with 46 yards on 10 tries and had three catches for 45 yards. Alabama State's Anthony Benjamin was 17 of 33 for 136 yards.

Another field goal, this time a 29-yarder by Texas Arlington's Scott Roper, left Texas Arlington ahead 10-3 at the half. Texas Arlington threatened to break the draw when, with 3:41 remaining in the game, McNeese's David Verrett recovered a fumble on McNeese's 2-yard line. 46 Southern 8 BATON ROUGE, La (AP) John Taylor scored three touchdowns, including one one a 93-yard pass from Mike Walker, to lead Delaware State's 46-8 triumph over Southern University's football team Saturday night. Delaware was in front 39-0 at halftime. Taylor's first two touchdowns came on a seven-yard run in the second quarter and a 35-yard pass from Jerome Baker, also in the second period. Delaware State's first two scores came on interceptions of passes by Southern quarterback Ervin Bennett. Southern scored in the last quarter on a seven-yard pass from Bennett to Connell Swain.

Bennett passed for the two-point conversion. Delaware State is now 7-2 for the season. Southern is 5-4. NE La 13, La Tech 9 RUSTON, La. (AP) Teddy Garcia drilled a pair of field goals and running back Mike Wooten plunged for the winning touchdown Saturday night to lift Northeast Louisiana to a 13-9 Southland Conference football victory over Louisiana Tech.

A fumble and a penalty enabled Northeast to continue its mastery over its north Louisiana rival, winning for the sixth time in the past eight years. This victory enabled Northeast to snap a three-game losing streak and improve to 5-4 overall, 2-2 against Southland opponents. Tech, meanwhile, slipped to 7-3 and 2-2. Ore. 0 Wyoming 41, San Diego St. 30 Cajun netters win in sweep USL's Ragin' Cajun women's tennis team swept to wins in the top five singles positions here Saturday and used that spurt to take an 8-1 dual match victory over Centenary College. The Cajun squad of coach Jennifer Tuero, now l-l on the season in dual match play, took all eight of its victories in straight sets, led by an easy 6-2, 6-0 victory in the No. 1 singles match by Diane Lowings over Centenary's Cynthia Van-derslice Susan Mainz took a 7-5, 6-fl victory over Macy Evert at No.

2 singles, Lori DeLaat downed Cindy Tallent 6-3, 6-0 in the No. 3 slot, Cathy O'Donovan took a 6-1, 6-3 win over Kate Farmer at No. 4 singles and Canine Sella downed Pam Lebato 6-1, 6-2 in the No. 5 position for the other singles wins. All five of USL's victories were provided by freshmen.

USL also swept all three doubles matches with Mainz and Lowings teaming for a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Evert and Vanderslice in the No. 1 doubles match. DeLaat and O'Donovan downed Labato and Rhonda Branaman 6-1, C-2 and Sella and Stephanie Bourg defeated Farmer and Lynn Hanson 6-2, 6-2 for the Cajuns' other doubles wins. The only Cajun loss came at the No. 6 singles slot, where Centenary's Branaman took a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Krista Eichelberger.
