Her skull had been fractured. Two 911 calls came from the Ramsey home that day, Dec. 26. Patricia Ramsey called 911 at 5:52 am, records show. A second 911 call was made from the Ramsey home that morning.

Boulder police told KCNC-Channel 4 that the second 911 call was similar to the first Boulder police spokesman Kelvin McNeill said detectives are investigating the three 911 calls, which KCNC first reported Dec. 27. Koby met with reporters in a roundtable session during a one-hour broadcast Thursday night oOOD MORMMC, IF SAM ii am ByTKE ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS BOULDER Chief Tom Koby defended the police investigation of JonBenet Ramseys slaying during a televised news conference Thursday night However, he said, it may take time to arrest the 6-year-old girls killer, and refused to reveal details of the case. Police do not believe a serial killer was involved, Koby said earlier, and he voiced support for his officers. But police have not yet formally interviewed the victims parents, John and Patsy Ramsey, Koby said. Detectives continue to work with the attorneys representing the family to try to establish communication that will resolve all the issues at hand, Koby said in a broadcast interview Thursday night Koby expressed confidence that police had preserved crucial evidence from the crime scene to lead to the girls killer, and he defended his officers initial response to what had been a 911-kidnapping call He also said widespread media coverage of the case has hindered file investigation of the childs slaying, a case that has deeply affected" his officers! Detectives, he said, keep a photograph of the smiling, reigning Little Miss Colorado in their briefing room.

City officials scheduled the hour-long broadcast on Boulders municipal cable channel 8 to give Koby a broad access to the citys residents. Koby has spoken with reporters who regularly cover Boulder since the Ramsey homicide two weeks ago. The hour-long broadcast the city had termed a community update took on global proportions Thursday night, with television crews, photographers and reporters jamming the lobby outside the studio. Ive never, in the 28 years Ive been in this business, ever seen such a media focus on an event and it is in fact intrusive and it is making it much more difficult to work this case, said Koby, who became Boulders chief in 1991 after a 22-year career with the Houston police department National interest in the case has resulted in a sick curiosity, said Recovering the Satellites Gotten Records GOOD MORNING VIETNAM Movie ASM Rconfc DEANA CARTER Did I Shm My htfr FotThitf CAol NadMNa ROMEO JlJUUET Movie Soundtrack Capitol MM lOJUU WIDUIV 1 He also disclosed that patrol officers who initially responded to the Ramsey home early Dec. 26 to Patsy Ramseys 911 call made a quick search of the home.

John Ramsey and an unnamed friend found the childs body in a basement room nearly 8 hours after the initial kidnapping report They did a preliminary search of the house and remember this is a very big house. It took us eight days to work through this house and they were just trying to determine if there was anything obvious that they needed to pay attention to, Koby said. Then they shifted into putting into place what they assumed would be an ongoing (kidnapping) event Police also talked to the parents that day, but did not interview them while they believed they were in the midst of a kidnapping, said Koby, who also cautioned that the public should not make any inferences about the familys cooperation because they have hired attorneys. Koby, who told of inadvertently fielding a call one night from people who were playing a game of Clue. Laughing, the caller asked if the Ramsey family could be used for characters in the game.

Koby, as has been his position since police first responded to an emergency call of a kidnapping call at the Ramseys 15-room home early Dec. 26, said he could not comment about specifics of the case. Investigators spent eight days removing evidence from the home, which is being analyzed. Koby said he expected results of forensic exam-, inations of the evidence, including handwriting samples and fluid samples from family members, to be returned to police incrementally because of the volume of samples. -But determining who struck and strangled the child could be time consuming, Koby said.
