It is a reproach leveled against American women that few oi them know how to walk. Indeed, we have heard it boldly asserted that thf only women who can walk as they should are the handsome Spanish idonnas.

Even American women who paster the grace of walking well in their youth seem to lose it in old age. Watch an old woman "walking; in nine cases out of ten she is flat-footed and ungraceful, and we should do everything that is possible to make old age Friday, April 24, 1807. B. B. millinery When you buy a Hat you want to know it has style, yet you do not feel like paying a great big price just for style.

Now we know our Hats have style, and from the rapid increase in the business, they must possess very superior style merit. We know another thing that there is no superfluous price added for that style. Prices are kept right down on the rock bottom small profit basis. To substantiate the assertion, we ask inspection of the truly beautiful Trimmed Hats we 're showing at $5.00, $7.50, $10.00 to $15.00. From a merchandise standpoint they are unsurpassed, and we believe also in style.

The modern school girl indulges in games much on the same lines as her brothers, to the great improvement of her health and her physique; but when the schooldays are over there is not that due cultivation of grace which would add so ma- terially to womanly charms. Some Examples of a Good Thing Carried to Extremes. You never really know a woman, some one has said, until you discover her pet economies. One very wealthy woman whose husband is a judge saves her pennies by saving bottles. Whenever there is need to have a prescription put up she sends an empty bottle from the house instead of paying five to ten cents for a new one. The woman often heads a subscription list with a $1,000 check, but she won't buy bottles.

Economy in the kitchen is frequently the cause of trouble. One woman sinply can't keep a chef because she insists that every particle of butter left over from the table shall be used for cooking. Another had no end of trouble with her servants because she insists upon their using candles. Saving paper, twine and wooden bundle carriers from the shops is a common economy. An actress who has plenty of money saves all her old shoes and slippers.

She has trunks full of them in all stages of dilapidation, but refuses to part with one of them. GEORGE C. M'PEAKE Real Estate and Insurance BroWr, Heal Estate Bought and Sole Fire, Life and Accident Insurance. No. 19 East Pike Street, CANONSBURG, PA.

Break into a small basin and put in a lump of sugar. Take a wooden potato masher (not a wire or metal one) and break the almonds and sugar, then slowly, almost drop by drop, add a half pint of rose water. The process is a long one and must be carefully done, the object being to break the almonds as fine as dust. Let stand over night, then strain through muslin cloth. Use the "milk" morning and night, letting it dry on the face.
