R. Wood entertain ed a large number of their friends at their home, 330 South Central avenue, Wednesday evening. Birthday Social Miss Bertha Praul very pleasantly entertained a number of her friends Wednesday evening in honor of her twentieth birthday anniversary. Miss Edith Crane, a teacher in the public schools, was a Washington visitor yesterday. Dr. C. B. Throckmorton and family are visiting the doctor's father at Nineveh, Greene county.

Rev. George R. Murray of Thomas station was in Canonsburg yesterday on his way home from Pittsburg. Mrs. Williams of Canonsburg Tisited her daughter.Mrs.

Welty spent Thanksgiving at Wilmerding with Mr. Welty's mother. Mr. Welty returned home at noon today. Mr.

and Mrs. Stephen Batch and son, Henderson, of Elizabeth, are spending a few days with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Levi Praul. Mrs.

and Mrs. A. W. McConnell spent Thanksgiving with Mr. and Mrs.

Joseph Ballentine of North Strabane. Mr. and Mrs. Ballentine entertained some 25 to 30 of their frineds and rel atives. The men among the guests spent part of the day hunting rabbits and succeeded in bagging a dozen.

A big turkey dinner was part of the day' program. Miller shipped about fifty head of fine turkeys to Pittsburg this morning. R. M. handled in all about 100 head of turkeys this week.

Rev. and Mrs. J. S. Ferris who have been spending the week with their friends here returned to their home at Donor a this afternoon.

Isaac N. Paxton says to the farm ers that if they have any big corn now is the time to shoot it along, Come early and avoid the rush. BOYCE STATION On Thanksgiving evening Miss Eva- dna Fife of Clifton entertained a num ber'of young friends in honor of Miss Doods and Miss Downie. Progressive flinch was the amusement of the eve ning.

After elegant refreshments were served some fine music was rendered by Miss Maude Gilfillan, Miss Mary Morton and others. All went home feeling they had enjoyed the evening. The ladies' prize, a beautiful china placque, was won by Miss Estella Wilson. Mr. Joseph Hop per secured the gentleman's prize, a picture.

The score cards were quaint and original, being decorated in pen and ink sketches of our national bird, the turkey. The rooms were beauti fully decorated with State college colors, and each guest went home voting Miss Fife a royal entertainer. Miss Estella Wilson of this place spent Thanksgiving with the family of E. J. Malone of Canonsburg.

Forest Ferguson of Pittsburg is spending a few days with the family of Jos. E. Wilson. Byard Boyce of this place has secur ed the position of ticket agent at Marshalsea. A horse belonging to William Les- nett, was kicked by another horse and had its leg broken.

The animal had to be shot. Mr. William Gundy has invested in a new horse and rubber tire run-about and after being out driving was unhitching when a hunter near by shot at a rabbit and came near shooting Mr. Gundy. I Miss Elizabeth Boyce, who attends school at Pittsburg is home on ac count of sickness.

Miss Emma Snyder of Pittsburg spent Thanksgiving with her parents of this place. Mr. Grant Boyce spent Wednesday and Thursday on his farm at Hanlin station hunting. Mrs. John Cheeseman of near Li brary is spending a few days with her parents, Mr.

and Mrs. John M. Boyce. Mr. Homer Willison of Washington was a business visitor Wednesday.
