The Giants and Braves will battle In the third game of the day after the National Little League teams get off the diamond. The NLL teams play a dotiblehcader starting at 10 a.m. Twice during the first half the Giants and Braves did not play enough innings to complete a game. Camp Evers is In the loser's bracket after dropping a 6 4 game to the Carmel Merchants earlier this week. Doug Kranich threw a two hitter for Soquel last night but one of the blows was an Inside the park home run by Bob Ramirez with one man on after a walk. The NR scored in bunches in the first and second innings and then added five more runs in the fourth and fifth to sew up the ball game. Jim England threw impressive ball as four of the Cement Plant's seven runs came in the fourth inning without the benefit of a hit. He scattered five hits as he went the route for the win.

Eng land and Paredes. Three Undefeated Cubans Battle In Garden Tonight By Murray Rose AP Sports Writer New York (P. Three undefeat ed Cuban fighters, with a com bined record of 22 straight knockouts, display their touted kayo wallops in a mass invasion of Madison Square Garden tonight.

The three newcomers are headed by Florentino (Ox) Fernandez, a power packing welterweight, who meets strong-jawed, never-stopped Stefan Redl of Passaic, N.J., in the featured television 10-rounder. The other two invaders are lightweights Douglas Vaillant and Carlos Hernandez. All three Cu bans are 21 and tall. Fernandez is 5 feet 9 and the other two, 5 feet 10. Vaillant (15 3-1, 9 KO's) of Pittsburgh.

Hernandez has won all eight of his pro fights by knockouts. These two fights also are scheduled for 10 rounds. Fernandez, bull necked and shouldered, is rated one of the best punchers to come out of the islands. He has won all 19 of his pro fights, 17 of them by kayos, and has stopped his last 14 onpo nents. In his last outing, at Hava na on May 9, he stowed away for mer lightweight champion- Paddy DeMarco in five rounds.

Redl, stocky, 5-5, 25-year-old 147-pounder, provides a fine test for the Cuban. The German-reared Redl has a 23-3-1 record, including 13 kayos. He is unbeaten over his. last four starts all this year and has unlimited confidence in his own ability. Only the main event will be seen on television.

Scoring will be by rounds. A supplementary point system also is used to help break draws. The winner of each round gets from 1 to 4 points, the loser none. AAU Track Meet Today, Tomorrow By Frank Pitman Boulder, Colo. W.

Eight Olympic champions and seven world record holders, along with some 440 other athletes, are vying for honors in the National AAU track and Field championships today and Saturday. Bids to international competitions, including summer tours abroad, go to the top finishers in the 21 events. The 1-2 men in each competition will form the United States dual team matched apainst the Russians in Philadelphia July 18-19. The top three in each event carry the Stars and Stripes into the Pan American games at Chicago August 27-Sep-tember 7. Others will be chosen for teams that tour several European countries this summer.

Sports Rally And Dinner Tomorrow Billy Wilson, star end for the San Francisco 49ers pro football team, will be the guest speaker at the community-wide Sports Rally and dinner to be held tomorrow evening at 7 o'clock. The program following the din ner at the Aptos school multi-purpose room will highlight the theme "From Boys into Men," and will have the purpose of uplifting the value of fathers and sons participation in sports activities. Besides Wilson there will be other sports people to discuss and answer questions on their particular sporting activity. Har ry Lyon, senior golf champion in this will be master of cere monies and will represent golf. John Tarr, Richard Purvis, Forrest McDermott and Charles Ide will also speak.

Donations for the dinner are $1.50 for men and $1 for boys under 12. Tickets are now available at Toney's Hardware in Aptos, the Soquel Variety Store and the Soquel Drugstore.
