She was buried on Wednesday, 11th instant, In Lebanon Cemetery by Thomas M. Almond Sons, 1028 Lombard street. Lees, a widow with no family, died on Wednesday, 185 October 4, at 811 Parrish street, aged years. Requiem Mass was celebrated by Rev. John Scully, rector of St.

Joseph's Roman Catholic Church. The funeral took place from the undertaking rooms For Mary S. Brennan, 258 South Fourth street, on Saturday, October 7. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery. LEONE.

-Anna, the 13-months-old daughter of Boris and Doria Leone, died at 412 Spruce street 011 Wednesday, 11th inst. Interment took place Wednesday, 11th in Har Nebo Cemetery, under the direction of Isaac Greenstein, undertaker, 234 Christian street. LETTERMAN. A. Letterman, died 50 years old, of 4728 Garden street, on Wednesday, October 4.

She was a member of the Bridesburg M. E. Church, Rev. Dr. J.

P. Miller pastor. The funeral services were held October 7 by Dr. Miller. Interment was at the Presbyterian Cemetery, Bridesburg.

Rose, Bridesburg, the funeral director. wife of Harry Linde, 2330 Sergeant street, aged 26 years, died on October 4 and was buried on Saturday, October 7. Solemn Requiem Mass at St. Ann's Church, Lehigh avenue and Memphis street. Rev.

Loose, wife of Adam Loose, died on the 4th instant, at her late residence, 929 Sartain street. She was born in Chester county, fifty-three years ago and removed to this city about twenty-three years ago. For the past seven years she has been a member of the Zion German Reformed Church. The Rev. Dr.

Dipple, the pastor, conducted the funeral services on Saturday, 7th instant, assisted by the Rev. A. L. Latham, of the North Tenth Street Presbyterian Church. The pall-bearers were Andrew Dearenback, Joseph DeBarth, Mr.

Weir and Mr. Jahn, and the interment was at Northwood Cemetery: daughter of Amos and Emma Locke, died on Sunday, 8th at 2241 South Carlisle street, aged 7 years. The deceased was 2 member of South Broad Street Presbyterian Sunday school, Miss Magowan being her teacher. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, 11th by Rev. William I.

Hayward, of the P. E. Church of St. Elizabeth. Interment was at Evergreen Cemetery, Camden, in charge of Undertaker Robert P.

Morton, 1444 South Broad street. 4 months old, infant son of Peter and Elizabeth Loftus, died at his parents' residence, 211 New street, rear, on Sunday. October 8, and was buried on Tuesday, October 10. Interment took place at Cathedral Cemetery, under direction of John A. Addis, undertaker, 241 North Fourth street.

Lovell, a venerable gypsy local fame in West Philadelphia, died at the Presbyterian Hospital on Monday, Oetobe: 9. He was 70 years of age. His wife and brother, Joseph, still survive him. About thirty years ago he commanded a large encampment of gypsies in the neighborhood of Fifty-third and Locust streets. of late years the camp has roamed over New Jersey.

The remains were taken to Elizabeth, N. on Tuesday, the 10th, where the camp is at present located. S. P. Frankenfleid's Sons, 5300 Vine street, were the funeral directors.

Church, on Wednesday, and the interment, at Fernwood Cemetery, was in charge of William F. Cushing, 1100 Snyder avenue. McAleer, of 2834 North Fifth street, died October 5 and was buried on Monday, October 9. Deceased was a member of the Sacred Heart Society, of St. Michael's Parish.

Requiem Mass was celebrated at St. Edward's Church by Rev. Father Hickey. Interment took place at New Cathedral Cemetery, under direction of Philip Donohue, undertaker, Lehigh avenue and Potter street. John McAllister, 70 years old, died on Saturday, October 7, at the residence of his son, William H.

MeAllister, 3930 Folsom street. He was an employe of the Pennsylvania Railroad Company for many years. The funeral services were held on Tuesday, October 10. The following day the remains were taken to Parkersburg. where they were interred in the Parkersburg Cemetery.

The funeral director was Oliver H. Bair, 41 North Eighteenth street. Eugene, son of John and Margaret McArdle, aged 2 years, died at parents' residence, 3164 Salmon street, on Monday, October 9, and was buried on Wednesday, October 11. Interment took place at Holy Cross Cemetery, under direetion of Undertaker Claud J. Mathieu, 2604 East Lehigh avenue.

MeBRIDE. -Ellen, wife of Bernard MeBride, aged 50 years, of 2611 East Huntingdon street, died on Thursday, October 5, and was buried on Saturday, October Interment took place at St. Ann's Cemetery under direction of A. C. Hookey, undertaker, 2464 Frankford avenue.

MeBRIDE. -D. MeBride, an employe of the Union Traction Company, died on Thursday, October 5, at the residence of his sister, Mrs. William Ritter, 1722 South Lee street, aged 24 years. Requiem Mass was celebrated at the Roman Catholic Church of Sacred Heart of Jesus by Rev.

Anthony J. Zeller. The interment was at Chester, under the charge of Undertakers J. J. White 2340 Fitzwater street.

Marie, aged 4 years and 3 months, daughter of Henry and Mary McCaffrey, of 1642 North Bodine street, died on Saturday, October 7, and was buried on Monday, October 9. Interment took place at New Cathedral Cemetery, under direction of John P. Gallagher, undertaker, 1439 Germantown avenue. E. M'Clain, 38 years oid, of 4511 Springfield avenue, died on Monday, October 9, in the University Hospital.

He Is survived by his wife and three children, Ellen, Margaret and Louis. Mr. M'Clain was born in Huntingdon county, graduated from Huntingdon College and moved to Philadelphia in 1882. He was in the employ of Louis Thompson wholesale lumbermen. The funeral services.

were held on Friday, the 13th, and were conducted by Rev. William S. Nelll, rector of Holy Apostles' P. E. Church.

Interment took place at Mount Moriah Cemetery, under the direction of Undertaker Samuel R. Foster, 1728 Federal street. Jane, widow of the late John J. McClain, aged 64 years, died in Frankford on Tuesday, October 10, and was buried on Thursday, October 12, from 2821 Hedley selected street, Bridesburg. Pall-bearerg were from among friends of the house family.

Burns, Twenty-fourth and Green streets. McConnell, aged 61 years, died at his residence, 274 South American street. on Tuesday, October 3. During the elvil war he served In Company Fifth Pennsylvania Cavalry, and on account of disabilities received while in the service drew a pension. He leaves a widow.

Requiem Mass was celebrated by the Rev. Thomas Sheerin, of St. Joseph's Roman Catholie Church, and inment took place In Cathedral Cemetery on Saturday, October 7. Thomas Thompson, Harry Platt, Charles Rodgers, John Brenner were the pall-bearers and Mary S. Brennan, 258 South Fourth street, the undertaker.

McCullough, 54. years of age, died on Thursday, October 5, at residence, 2032 North Warnock street. The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. J. D.

Bowman, of Brethren Church, Tenth and Dauphin streets, on Monday afternoon last, and the interment was at Mount Moriah Cemetery, in charge of William Conn, 2708 North Fifth street, funeral director. -Charles infant son of William and Lizzie McCunney, died on Thursday, 5th at Seventeenth and Washington avenue, aged 11 months. Funeral services were held on the 7th instant, by Rev. Wen Jones, pastor of tue Eighteenth Street M. E.

Church, and the interment was at Elkton, Md. Funeral Director W. F. Sweeney Wast in charge. -Lizzie, daughter of John and Rose McCusker, died on October 3, at No.

1251 South Twentieth street, aged 7 years. Requiem Mass was celebrated on October 7 in the R. C. Church of St. Gabriel, by Rev.

P. J. Mellon, rector. Interment took place in New Cathedral Cemetery. Six youthful companions of Lizzie acted as pall-bearers, Katie O'Brien, Celia Dawson, Gertie Taylor, Tillie Rodgers, Rosie McGinnis and Florence Galey.

John J. White 2340 Fitzwater street, were the funeral directors. -Dennis McDevitt died at 1723 South Ninth street on Friday, 6th aged 60 years. Solemn High Mass was celebrated at the R. C.

Church of the Annunciation by Rev. Patrick Dailey, D. rector, assisted by Rev. Father O'Neill and Rev. Henry M.

Naylon, on Tuesday, 10th inst. The pall-bearers were John Fortiner, M. McDowell, James P. Tolat and Thomas McCormick. Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery, In charge of Undertaker John J.

O'Rourke, 1600 South Tenth street. Sunday, October 1, Owen MeMe Gurk died at the home of his son-in-law, Daniel McCarthy, 250 East Haines street. He was 70 years old, and was born in Ireland. The funeral services were held Oetober 5, and were conducted by Father McKinney, of St. Vincent's R.

C. Church. Interment at Old Cathedral Cemetery, by M. A. Hayes, 108 East Price street, funeral director.

son of William and Sarah 2 years and 4 months. died at 117 McClellan street on Tuesday, 10th Inst. The parents are members of the Roman Catholic Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Rev. John J. Ward rector.

Interment took place at Holy Cross Cemetery. Undertaker, William J. Nolan, 2240 South Third street. son of Mary A. and the late Edward McLaughlin, died on October 3 at his mother's residence.

2400 Hamilton street. He attended St. Francis' Parochial School and was a member of the League of the Sacred Heart, of St. Francis Xavier's Church. Solemn Requiem Mass was celebrated on Saturday 7th instant, by Father Carr.

Father Cavanaugh was deacon and Father Keelan subdeacon. The pall-bearers were six of his companions, and the interment, at New Cathedral Cemetery, was in charge of Undertaker John C. Cahill, of 262 South Twentieth street. Thursday, October 5, Cornelius McLaughlin, 58 years old, died at his home in Doylestown, Pa. He was a member of Collie' Zouaves, and served during the civil war.

He was buried from the residence of his brother, Edward McLaughlin, 4105 Germantown avenue. Requiem Mass was celebrated in St. Stephen's R. C. Church, Father MeLaughlin rector.

Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, by W. H. Battersby, 3538 North Seventeenth street, funeral director. -William M. McLaughlin, engaged in the coal business, died at 1224 South Twenty-second street, on the 4th instant, aged 55 years, leaving a widow and three children.

He was a member of Constitution Lodge, No. 15, A. P. A. Funeral services were conducted by Rev.

Robert Burns Wallace, of Grace Presbyterian Church, on Saturday, 7th Instant. Interment in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, in charge of Undertaker Thompson Carson, 1312 South street. McMahon, aged 40 years, a hatter by trade, died in the Philadelphia Hospital on October 4, and was buried on Monday, October 9. Deceased was a member of the Hatters' Union.

Funeral services were read at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church by Rev. Father Mullin, and interment took place in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, under direction of John P. Gallagher, undertaker, 1439 Germantown avenue. Anna McMenamin, aged 60 years, of No.

11 Richmond street, died on October 6 and was buried on Tuesday October 10. Deceased was burled from the residence of her son-in-law, Daniel Dowd. with Solemn Requiem Mass at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, North Front and Canal streets, Rev. Father Kelly pastor. Interment took place in Cathedral Cemetery, under the direetion of George F.

Lynch, undertaker, 2922 Richmond street. MeMilien died on Sunday, 8th Instant, at 1322 South Colorado street, aged 39 years. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, 11th Instant, by Rev. J. C.

McFeeters, and interment was In Mt. Moriah Cemetery, in charge of Undertaker Thomas K. Graham, 318 South Twelfth street. infant son of James and Mary McTamany, aged 6 weeks, died on October 9, and was buried on Wednesday, October 11, from parente' residence, 2834 Kensington avenue, at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, under direction of Philip Donohue, undertaker, Lehigh avenue and Potter street. Malloy died at 125 Federal street on Saturday, 7th Instant, aged de Neri's Roman Catholic Church.

Requiem 55 years. She was a member er of St. Philip Mass was celebrated at that church 011 Tuesday, 10th instant, by the rector, Rev. James F. Trainer.

The pall-bearers were John Mealy, Thomas McCuskey, James Sloan and Frank Mansfield. Interment was at New Cathedral Cemetery, in charge of J. Wesley Bowen, 1018 South Second street. aged 19 years, daughter of George and Mary Markilwitch, died at 3613 Richmond street on Tuesday, October 10, and was buried on Friday, October 13. Solemn Requiem Mass was celebrated at St.

Laurentius' Roman Catholic Church. Interment took place at New Cathedral Cemetery under direction of Michael Makurat, 2534 Richmond street, undertaker. Markley, 88 years old, died at her home, 423 North Forty-first street, on Friday, October 6. She was a native of Montgomery county, having lived in Norristown for over fifty years. The last fifteen years of her life were spent in Philadelphia.

Six children, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren survive her. She was a member of the Barren Hill Lutheran Church. The funeral services, held on Monday, October 9, were conducted by Rev. George Drach, of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church.

Interment In Barren Hill Cemetery by Oliver H. Bair, Eighteenth and Filbert streets, funeral director. MARTIN. -Henry J. Martin, died at the home of his parents, 3942 Folsom street, on Saturday, October 7, aged 25 years.

His parents are Andrew and Cora E. Martin. Mr. Martin was for several years a conductor on the Lancaster avenue line of the Union Traction Company. The funeral services took place at the Plus Memorial R.

Elizabeth Miller, of 154 Windover street, died on Tuesday, October 3. The funeral services were held on Saturday, 0c- tober 7. Solemn High Mass was celebrated by Rev. James A. Brehony, of St.

John the Baptist R. C. Church. Interment took place at St. John's Cemetery, by James Frazier, 4359 Main street, funeral director.

MILLER. wife of Chauncey Miller, died at 1130 Waverly street, on Tuesday, 3d Instant, in the 24th year of her age. Rev. Dr. J.

B. Stansberry, of Bethel A. M. E. Church, conducted the funeral services on Monday, 9th instant, and the interment was at Lebanon Cemetery, charge of Undertakers A.

Henson Sons, 1013 Lombard street. aged 14 months, daughter of J. R. and Helen Mills, No. 2500 East Norris street, died on October 6, and was buried October 9.

Services were held by Rev. Dr. Hunter, of McCauley's Presbyterian Church, York street, above Coral, at the house of the grandfather, James Givens, and interment took place at Mt. Peace Cemetery, under direction of Titlow Brothers, undertakers, No. 341 Richmond street.

Brogan, 4813 Lancaster avenue, was the funeral director. the 7-year-old child of Angelo and Mary Monjuse, died at 824 Montrose street, on Tuesday, 10th instant. The parents are members of the Italian Roman Catholic Church of St. Mary Magdalene di Pazzi, of which Rev. Antonio Isoleri is rector.

Interment was on Thursday, 12th instant, at St. Mary's Cemetery. Undertakere C. C. A.

Baldi 928 South Eighth street, were in charge. Morgan, aged 32 years, died at 519 South Fifth street, on Saturday, 7th Instant, and was burled on Monday, 9th instant, In Philadelphia Cemetery. Andrew Eberts' Sons, undertakers, 519 South Fifth street, had charge. MORRIS died at his home, 3925 Morrison, Dexter 61 street. years on Thursday, October 5.

He was born in Ireland and came to the United States in 1873. He has lived' in Manayunk ever since. Four children, Marie, John, Patrick and Cecilia Morrison, survive him. The funeral services were held on Monday, October 9. Rev.

Father James A. Brehony, of St. John the Baptist R. C. Church, celebrated High Mass.

The interment was at St. John's Cemetery, and James Frazier, 4359 Main street, the funeral director. Mulvaney died on Saturday, 30th aged 28 years. The funeral took place from the undertaking parlors of M. S.

Brennan, 258 South Fourth street, on Thursday, 5th Inst. Requiem Mass was celebrated at St. Mary's Roman Catholle Church by Rev. Daniel I. MeDermott, and interment took place in Holy Cross Cemetery.

Nauffet, a farmer, of Essington, died from Injuries accidentally received at the home of his son-inlaw. 619 Tree street, on Friday, 6th aged 53 years. He leaves a widow and three children. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. F.

Wischan, of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, and interment was in Fernwood Cemetery, on Sunday, 8th under supervision of Undertaker Christian F. Gauker, 644 Snyder avenue. Nee, daughter of Rebecca and the late Daniel Nee, aged 31 years, died at the residence of her brother-in-law, Bernard McCloskey, 2442 Ingersoll street, on Tuesday, 10th instant, having come to this city twelve years ago from Ireland, where she was born. High Mass was celebrated on Saturday last by Rev.

Father McCarley, of St. Elizabeth's Roman Catholic Church. Among the pall-bearere were John Dallon and Charles O'Brien. The Interment was at Holy Cross Cemetery, and was in charge of Undertaker Thomas R. Cleary, Twelfth and Jefferson streets.

Nelson, a native of Norway, aged 28 years, employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad Company on their dredge Allegheny, died on Tuesday, 0c- tober 3, from Injuries received on board that boat. Norwegian services were held on Sunday last, at the residence of his brother, Martin Nelson, 108 Ellsworth street, by Rev. C. O. Roswig.

Interment was at Fernwood Cemetery. J. Wesley Bowen, undertaker, 1018 South second street, had charge. OPPENLANDER. J.

Oppenlander, employe of a lithographic establishment, died on Friday, 6th instant, at his home, 1420 Hicks street, aged d'26 years. He was a member of the Lithographers' Association, No. 14, and George W. Childs Circle, No. 34, Brotherhood of the Union.

He leaves a widow, Lizzie Oppenlander. Requiem Mass was celebrated at the Roman Catholic Church of St. Thomas Aquinas, on Tuesday, 10th instant, by the rector, bearers Rev. M. J.

Lawler. The pall. were John MAdams, Frank Fritz, Edward Hayes and John McGinley. Interment took place in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, in charge of Undertakers Walter Burke Sons, 1129 Christian street. Pavolinus, aged 31 years, who died at 651 North Camac street, on Wednesday, the 4th instant, was born In Russia, coming to this country about ten St.

He was born in Gananoque, Canada, in 1864. After attaining his majority he came over to the States, remaining here ever since. He had been connected with the Otto Gas Engine Works, Thirty-third and Walnut streets, for the past three years. He has acted as captain and pilot of the yacht Otto, the property of the Otto Gas Engine Works. The universal opinion of all big Fellow-workmen places him above the average man of the world.

He was gentlemanly in address, a man of integrity and worth, and recognized as a valuable man by his superiors, The remains were shipped to Gananoque on Tuesday, the 10th, where they were to be taken care of by his relatives. Oliver H. Bair, 41 North Eighteenth street, was the funeral director. Pander, aged 71 years, died at the Soldiers' Home, Hampton, on October 2, and was buried from his daughter's residence, 2225 Ann street, on Sunday, October 8. Deceased was a member of the Seventy-fifth Pennsylvania Volunteers during the elvil war.

At the age of 17 she left school to take a course in music, for which she was inclined, and while engaged in that study took sick. Rallying during August of last year, accompanied by her brother, she visited the Adirondacks, and later joined the pilgrimage to St. Anne de Beaupre, outside of Quebee, where she was almost miraculously cured. On her return home her friends rejoiced in her changed condition. During October last she contracted cold.

Mr. John Rowson Smith, a brother of Willlam Earle Smith WAS the originator and painter of the first panorama in the history of art.

widow of George W. Young and daughter of the late Abram and Anna De Haven, died on the 5st instant, at her residence, 1533 North Twenty-third street, aged 64 years. Her husband was an old-time butcher of that vicinity. He died 27 years ago. After his death, Mrs.

Young became janitress of the Twenty-third district station house, and continued to act up to the time of her decease. She was a member of the Daughters of the Union, No. 1, and Montezuma Council, No. 94, D. of P.

The funeral services were held at the residence on Sunday last by the Rev. John Sayres, of the Twentieth Street Methodist Episcopal Church, and the interment in Mount Peace Cemetery. Four pollce officers acted as pall-bearersSamuel Albright, Fred Sayres, John Creamer and William McGregor. A detail of elghty men from the Twenty-third district was also in attendance. Undertaker Geo.

W. Care, 1519 North Twenty-third street, had charge. Young, died at the Episcopal Hospital, on the 6th instant, aged 71 years. The funeral services were held at the Protestant Episcopal Church of the Holy Apostles, by the Rev. William S.

Nelll, on Tuesday, 10th instant. Interment was at Mount Cemetery, under direction of Undertaker T. Carson, 1312 South street. York street, died on 0c- tober 10, and was buried on Friday, October 13. Deceased was a member of Lincoln Post, Union Foresters of America and of the Union Republican Club, of the Thirty-first ward, members of the latter organization serving 88 pallbearers.

Rev. John Linker, of the Bethel (German) Baptist Church, officlated at the house, and Interment took place at Greenmount Cemetery, under direction of Undertaker Harry L. Seher, Front street and Susquehanna avenue. son of Frederick and ZINGE Zinger, aged 25 years, of 2538 East York street, died on 0c- tober 10, and was buried on Friday, October 13. Deceased was a member Interment of Jacob Ziegler, aged 72 years, of 2125 alacet, died on October 4 and was buried on October 7.

Deceased left a family of five children, two daughters and three sons, the latter being professional men In the city. Services were held at the house by the Rev. Francis A. Gilbert, of the Port Richmond M. E.

Church. Interment took place at Gettysburg under direction of Titlow undertakers, 341 Richmond street. on Wednesday, Brangan, 3947 funeral director. A. her at street, on Monday, dren, Howard, Anna her.

She was a member terian Church, Manayunk. Burns, the pastor, services, held on stant. Interment took Cemetery. Frank street, was the funeral son Merz, nee Scheetz, months, of No. 2131 October 6 and WAS burled on Monday, October 9.

Deceased was a pupil of Will1am F. Miller Publie School, Howard street, and of Norris Square M. E. Sunday School, Mrs. Becker teacher.

Members of the Sunday school class served 88 pallbearers. Services at the house were held by Rev. Edward W. Burke, of the Norris and interment took D. Zeltle, of 915 Sansom street, died at the Jefferson Hospital, on the 28th of pneumonia.

Mr. Zeitle had carried on business AS a cabinet maker at 915 Sansom street for forty years. He was a member of the Stephen Girard Lodge, No. 450, F. and A.

which order conducted the funeral services, held on the 30th ult. A brother and sister survive him. They take great pride in the fact that their deceased brother was at one time a member of both the State Fencibles and the National Guard of Pennsylvania. He served with the State Fencibles during the Homestead riots, near Pittsburg. He was buried in Glenwood Cemetery, the funeral being in charge of Kunzig Brothers, undertakers, 331 Fairmount avenue.

ZUR Elizabeth Zur Nieden, wife of Carl Zur Nieden, of 4625 Westminster avenue, died at her home on Friday, September 29. She was 42 years of age and and a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Forty-second and Parrish streets, Rev. E. Herman Pohle, pastor.

Dr. Poble presided at the funeral, which was held on Tuesday, October 3. The body was interred In Fernwood Cemetery. The funeral directors were S. B.
