search for identity and maturity more bearable. At the same time it sensitively explores the girls developing friendship with boys. When the time came to select the four teenage girls, the producers and director conducted extensive readings with hundreds of young girls across the country and full screen tests of the finalists. They knew that the chemistry and rapport among the girls would be vitally important as much of the films believability would come from their inter-relationships. With the exception of Jodie Foster, the girls who were chosen are as yet unknown to the movie-going public.

Jodie Foster, a veteran actress, is reunited with Scott Baio and David Puttnam in Foxes. Jodie and Scott first starred together three years ago in Puttnams "Bugsy Malone. Jodie added a new dimension to her career in the role of a 14-year-old streetwalker in Martin Scorseses searing Taxi Driver, which won her an Academy Award nomination. Prior to that, she had caused a sensation as the tomboy playmate of Ellen Burstyns son in Alice Doesnt Live Here Anymore, also a Scorsese film. Born in Los Angeles on November 19, Jodie first appeared before the cameras in an episode of Mayberry, R.F.D., a television series in which her older brother Buddy played a continuing role.

Jodie later had running roles in three series, The Courtship of Eddies Father, My Three Sons and Paper Moon. Among Jodies many motion picture roles are five Walt Disney films: "Napo-lean and Samatha, Menace on the Mountain, "One Little Indian, Candle-shoe and Freaky Friday." Their dream is to have a place of their own, to establish their own family unit The four teenage girls are played Jby Jodie Foster, an Academy Award nominee for her role in Martin Scorseses Taxi Driver, Marilyn Kagan, Kandice Stroh and Cherie Currie. David Puttnam and Gerald Ayres are co-producers of Foxes, Adrian Lyne is the director and Geoffrey Kirkland is the associate producer. The film is released by United Artists, a Transamerica Company. Set against the plastic and neon of Los Angeles San Fernando Valley, Foxes takes a realistic and compassionate look at the modern teenage girlwoman. The original screenplay by Gerald Ayres is a story of and for today, alternately funny and sad as the events in these girls lives unfold. It is also about the very special rapport and caring among the understanding and tolerance of one another which makes their tough Richard Harris in Echoes of Summer, and played Raquel Welchs daughter in Kansas City Bomber." Marilyn Kagan, who plays Madge in Foxes, studied acting with the L.A.

Actors Theatre and appeared in their production of "Midnight Moon at the Greasy Spoon, starring John Marley and Ford Rainy. Although Foxes is Kandice Strohs first major role in a feature film, she is far from a novice. After studying Theatre Arts at Pennsylvania State University, Kandice went to New York and studied ballet with the Martha Graham School of Dance. While a student of drama coach Warren Robertson (he coached Diane Keaton, James Earl Jones), she acted in his studio productions of Last of the Red Hot Lovers, A Dolls House, Our Town and Legends of Arthur.

From January through April, 1978, Kandice played a 15V4 year old girl in A Days Grace at the An- sonia Theatre on Broadway. Everything Cherie Currie (Annie) has done prior to Foxes has been related to music. since her Dad taught her and her twin sister to sing when they were small. Cherie dropped out of Van Nuys Birmingham High School in the tenth grade to become lead singer for the first allgirl band which she formed with four other girls aged 15 to 17.
