Regular Meeting of Loyal Sunday School Class Held. The regular meeting of the Loyal Sunday school class of the First Methodist Episcopal church was held on Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. E. Peeples, Elk street, with 40 present. Following a short business session in charge of the president, Miss Nina Smiley, the remainder of the evening was spent in sewing and playing games.

Delicious refreshments were served with the following acting as hostesses: Mrs. Peeples, Mrs. J. L. Infield, Mrs.

C. A. Ritts, Mrs. P. H.

Donnelly, Frank Hughes and Mrs. W. M. Ritts. Chicken and Waffle Dinner Held at Country Club Thursday.

Another of the popular chicken and waffle dinners was served on Thursday evening at the Wanango Country club and this will be a weekly event. Thursday was Ladies' day at the club and 20 women golfers enjoyed the luncheon at noon, On Sunday the regular dinner will be served and members are asked to have their reservations in as soon as possible. The interior and grounds of the club are especially beautiful this year and everything possible is being done to make this the most successful season of the club. Mrs. A. K. Rheem, daughter, Miss Alice Louise, and Miss Alice Rheem left today for Amherst, where on Sunday Albert K. Rheem, will graduate from Amherst College.

Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Nicklin are expected home today from Boston, and they will be accompanied by their daughters, Miss Martha.

Titus M. Shorts. Titus M. Shorts, aged 63 died on Thursday evening at 10 o'clock at his home, Victory township, near Pearl on the Pittsburgh Road. He had been ill for several years.

Mr. Shorts was born on the farm on which he resided and was well known and highly respected in the community. He was united in marriage on July 22, 1889, to Miss Sarah McMillin, who survives together with the following children: W. W. Shorts, Mrs.

Ware S. McCray and Ors. Ione Rugh, of Franklin; R. C. Shorts, of Oil City.

He also leares six grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. J. B. Shrader, of Scranton, and Mrs. G.

A. Arner, of Chester, W. and one brother, B. W. Shorts, of Clereland.

The following half-brothers and half-sisters survive: Mrs. Sarah Spencer, and Mrs. W. D. McMillin, of Franklin; J.

P. Rice, Chester, W. and Dr. O. V.

Rice, Luskoge, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at the home on Sunday afternoon, at 3 o'clock, and burial will follow in the Shorts family cemetery. The services will be in charge of Rev. J. K.

Jones, pastor of the Hebron Evangelical church, where the deceased attended and was very active. Mrs. L. E. Baker.

Mrs. Bessie Morrison Baker, wife of L. E. Baker. died suddenly Thursday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock at the family home in Canal township.

She is survived by her husband and the following children: Mrs. Ethel Deeter, of Canal; Mrs. Clayton Sutley, of Rocky Grove; Mrs. Thomas Boughner, of Cochranton; Cecil Baker, of Utica: Vernon Baker, of Utica, and Howard and Betty, at home. One sister.

Mrs. George Brown. Buffalo, N. two brothers, William Morrison, Tulsa, Newton Morrison. Franklin; 18 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren also survive.

The funeral services are announced for Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the family home, with Rev. Merrifleld officiating and interment following in the Baptist cemetery in Canal township. Albert Cyrus Randall. Albert Cyrus Randall, aged 58 years, idled on Wednesday at Sugarcreek. 'He was born in this state and for the greater part of his life was a resident of Franklin and vicinity, following the trade of brush maker, part of the time in Pittsburgh.

Surviving him are two brothers. Edward F. Randall, of Toledo, 0., and Allen B. Randall, of New York City, and one sister, Mrs. George Bulkley, of l'etersburg.

Word has been received here of the sudden death of William H. Landvoigt, of Washington. D. which occurred on Thursday. Mr.

Landvoigt had been dramatic editor of the Washington "Evening Star" for more than 30 years. He is the father of W. Arnold Landvoigt, agent in charge of the Pittsburgh Federal Secret Service bureau W. A. Landvoigt is a brother-in-law of Mrs.

Charles H. Sheasley, of this city, and is well-known here. REAL RELIEF TO CROPS IN RAIN ON THURSDAY PITTSBURGH, June averaging an inch or more fell last night in western Pennsylvania bringing the first real relief to crops in more than a month, Weather Forcaster W. S. Brotzman reported today.
