SATURDAY MCI IT "Topeka Hofcse Wives Approve" Hallowe'en Pranks Caused Itusiness to Pick up Lust N'ight Yes; there was something doing Eight Topeka housewives, representative of all classes, told the Kansas Public Utilities Commission Thursday of using gas with entire success, with three part rate limiting devices installed in their homes. All testified they were pleased with tests of the three part rate, and that ample gas for domestic needs was available at all times.

Especially were they pleased at the opportunity to burn additional gas for heating at thirty cents a thousand cubic feet, afforded, by the three part rate. The eight witnesses told the Commissioners of pronounced improvement in the operation of their kitchen" ranges through simple and inexpensive adjustments of burners, made at the time the limiting devices were installed. The adjustments resulted, they said, in a flame which cooked more quickly without blackening the pans and kettles, and, best of all, a noticeable saving of gas. All of the Topeka tests proved the customers could save money on their fuel bills under the three part rate. The present Topeka rate is eighty cents a thousand cubic feet.

Data in detail covering these economies was offered in evidence before the Commission as an exhibit separate from testimony of the housewives. ARK ANSA VALLEY GAS CO. WICHITA NATURAL GAS CO.
