6 Tulane' Green Wave returned to the traces last Wednesday afternoon to begin preparations for its first Eastern invasion since 1942. Full of ginger after a two-day layoff following the victory over Auburns Tigers, the Wave got right down to business about the coming tussle with Navy on Armistice Day in Baltimore. Tulane was idle Saturday. The layoff gave injuries ade-ouate opportunity to improve and Coach Henry Frnka is looking for several absentees from the Auburn fray to be ready for the Navy tussle. Guard Hal Headrick, who fractured his skull against Notre Dame, will in all probability be ready for the Middies along with Gale Kirkpatrick, a defensive and offensive performer at end.

Charlie Dai-gle, the Waves defensive back, is still nursing- a leg injury and hell continue to take things easy for a while. Unless injuries crop up sometime this week or the rest of next, the Wave should be in pretty good shape for this first trip to the East since 1942. Meanwhile, the Wave climbed into a prominant spot in the National defensive picture according to the National Collegiate Ahtletic Bureau, the statistical bible of collegiate bureau. The bureau report for the week ending October 28 showed the Wave in a fourthranking spot ini the najion on rushing defense and a seventh place in the nation on total defense. The Green has given up a total rushing yardage of 411 in five games, an average of 82.2 yards per game.
