6C Burlington (N.C.) TIMES NEWS Oct. 14, 1974 Elon College Revives Paper WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO LIMIT QUANTITIES Debbie Cochran has high hopes for the first issue of the new Eton College newspaper scheduled for publication this week. There have been several attempts in recent years to revive the school newspaper, all of which have been un successful. "it's been pretty dead for about four or five years, now," said Debbie, "But we're really enthusiastic, and workinj; hard to make this one go." By Debbie meant herself and co editor 'Patsy Lynch, along with the other members ot the newspaper staff, "la of us altogether. With a new name, The Pendulum, a new format and a new staff, plans call for the paper to be published biweekly.

Debbie is also hoping for new equipment. "Right now we're working out of a little room in the student union. We have a drafting table, a tee square and two typewriters donated by the student government association." she said. The first steps toward reestablishing the paper were taken by the Communications Board, according to Debbie. Further interest was stimulated by a class in journalism taught bv Dr.

Mary Priestly, who is also serving as advisor lo the newspaper staff. 'Without Dr. Priestley we'd reallv be nowhere," said Debbie, She's been the backbone of everything." The first edition of The Pendulum contains a feature on Zack's. editorials, and two nsws announcements "that we are going to break. No other newspaper has been given these items yet," Debbie said.
