Nov. 7, 1976 6C Burlington (N.C.) Times News Miss Brenda Herndon Miss Charlotte Looney Weds Mr. Winningham Marries Mr. Stephens Williams, Hill Couple To Marry The Rev. and Mrs.

C. Williams of Lexington announce the engagement of their daughter, Virginia Dare, to Bruce William Hill, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hilt of Newport. The wedding is planned for December 18 in the First Baptist Church in Lexington.

Miss Williams is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. E. McPherson and Mrs.

T. C. Williams all of Burlington. Miss Charlotte Anne Looney and Charles Walter Stephens were married Saturday in a 4 o'clock ceremony at the Church of the Holy Comforter. The Rev.

Roderick L. Reinecke officiated, and organist was Ms. Jeannette Hassell. The bride, a former resident of Elon College now residing in DeKalb, fllinois, Towey of Cincinnati, Ohio. The groom's father was his best man, and ushers were Dennis Eilers of Lansdale, Pennsylvania; Dave Thompson of Alexandria, Virginia; and Thomas Taylor of Hillsborough.

Prior to the wedding, Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Line of Minneapolis, Minnesota, sister and brother in law of the bride, hosted a rehearsal amner at the Colonial Inn in Hillsborough. On the day of the ceremony, Misses Edith and Madge Brannock entertained the wedding party with a wedding breakfast at their home, 402 Haggard Avenue in Elon College. Immediately following the wedding ceremony, the bride's parents hosted a reception at the Hilton Inn in Burlington.

Miss Brenda Ann Herndon and Joseph Banks Winningham were married Saturday in a 3 o'clock ceremony at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Edmond Herndon of Route 1, Yanceyvitle.

Dr. Carlton Prickett officiated at the ceremony. Given in marriage by her father, uie bride wore an ivory A Iine gown of silk organza and Venice lace over peau de soie. Designed with an empire waistline, the gown featured a neckline edged with lace and pleated organza, long sleeves and an attached chapel train. Her tiered veil of English illusion was edged with lace and attached to a Camelot headpiece accented with pearls.

She carried a nosegay of white roses. Mrs. Jerry Charles of Danville, the bride's sister, was matron of honor, and Mrs. Ken Caison of Mebane directed the wedding. Lloyd Petty of Siler City was the groom's best man, and Jerry Charles of Danville.

She is presently a candidate for a Master's degree in anthropology from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois, and is employed by the DeKalb County Special Education Association. The bridegroom is the son of Mr.

and Mrs. Charles F. Stephens of Kansas City, Kansas. A resident of DeKalb, Illinois, he was graduated from Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas, with a B.S. degree in agricultural journalism.

He is a member of the Professional Photographers of America, the National Agricultural Advertising and Marketing Association, and the Public Relations Society of America. He is currently employed as public relations manager for DeKalb AgResearch, in DeKalb. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of white Qiana with Venice lace trim, designed with a high neckline, a lace appli qued raised bodice, a flared skirt, and a Watteau chapel train. Her chapel length veil of silk illusion was edged with Venice lace, and attached to a lace cap. She carried a cascade of white roses and gardenias.
