High Band Gives Roads, Intersections Are Graded Concert GRAHAM The first public appearance of Graham High School's stage band will be on the courthouse steps tonight. The band, under the direction of Jim White, will perform at 7 pjn. on Court Square. The concert is sponsored by the Graham Merchants Association for the opening of the fall sales season.

J.W. Sewell MEBANE James William Sewell, 58. of 6G3 Carr died Thursday" i in a Burlington hospital after an extended illness. He was a native of Calvin County. Ala.

and was a retired textile employee and insurance agent. A veteran of World War II. he was the recipient of the Bronze Star with four oak leaf clusters. Final rites will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. in Walker's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev.

Luther King, pastor of Eastside Baptist Church, and the Rev. James Christopher. Burial will be in Eden. He is survived by his wife. Mrs.

Virginia M. Sewell, of the home; one son. Ronnie Sewell. U. S.

Marines at Camp Lejeune: one brother. Clark Sewell of Oxford. two Mrs. Louise Rogers. Anniston.

Ala. and Mrs. Doris Garner of Oxford. The will remain at Walker's Funeral Home through the funeral hour. Tne family will receive friends at the funeral home 7 p.m.

Collen Mills, both of Burlington. Final rites will be held at the Hopedale United Church of Christ Saturday at 2:30 p.m.. with the church's pastor, the Rev. Lester Stanley, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Clyde H.

She was a member of Chestnut Ridge United Methodist Church.

Lillian Ray and Mrs. Ida Slaughter, both of Mefaane. Mrs. Josie Brewer, with whom she made her home. Mrs.

Reatha Lewis and Mrs. Selina Johnson, both of Burlington. Mrs. Pauline Albright. Rt.

1. Graham: son. Sykes. Rt. 2.

Mebane: 36 grandchildren. 101 great-grandchildren. 43 great- great grandchildren. 12 step- grandchildren. 48 step-great- grandchildren and 57 step-, great-great grandchildren.

The Rev. Curtis Oakley, pastor of Riverside Baptist Church in Graham, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Harley Anderson, pastor of Lighthouse Baptist Church, and the Rev. Earl Hardin. pastor of Oakgrove Baptist Church.

Burial in the church cemetery. The body will remain at Walker's Funeral Home in Mebane until taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will be at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m., W.S. Baker William Samuel (Sam) Baker. 99.

Alfonso Baker of Graham: 20 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. The body will remain at the Rich and Thompson Mortuary pending completion of funeral arrangements. Mrs. Nettie Mullis Mrs. Nettie Jeanette Mullis, 30.

of 415 i a Burlington, died at a local hospital this morning at 9:30 a.m. following several years of failing health and five days of critical illness. She was a native of Union County, daughter of the late Jim A. and Joanna Thomas Chaney. and was a member of Ward Street Methodist Church in High Point.

She was the wife of Wade Hampton Mullis of the home, who survives. Other survivors include four daughters. Mrs. Alma Poole. Mrs.

D. E. Rice. Miss Alice Mullis. and Mrs.
