Dad was a quiet gentleman who valued his family above all else and was a provider and protector to his last day. In remembering Dad there are a few words that described his personal pursuits: golf, travelling, bridge, and award winning Chartered Accountant. One of Dad's accomplishments before his extended illness was achieving master points in bridge tournaments. Mom and Dad visited many places around the world, his most memorable trip being to Eastern Europe and Budapest, and sitting on the walls of Constantinople; but the most memorable trip of theirs was the hair-raising description of their car trip around the circumference of Iceland. Dad's love of driving and going for drives was both a mode of travelling, a mode for work and his joy on the weekends.

Of all the places dad liked to drive to, were golf courses that always seemed to be a long drive away. After switching from right to left-handed in golf due to knee issues, sharing his time on the course with his family was one of his greatest joys. Just short of 88 years, Dad was a chartered accountant and business man to the last. His choice of accounting as a career allowed him to help people and provide for his family. From humble beginnings of one customer in the 1960s, Dad expanded into businesses and helped a number of firms to high success.

He will be greatly missed. Services will be held at the Irvine Funeral Home, 4 James St. Brockville, Ontario on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB).
