Times-News, Thursday, June CT, XEM41I Hobgpod-Huffines Couple Honored At Dinner Party Miss Deborah Hobgood and Zonnie Huffines, who will be married in the fall, were Tuesday evening with a dinner party at Huey's Seafood Restaurant by Mr. and Mrs. Victor Graham. Miss Hobgood was presented a corsage of white carnations to complement her navy and red pantsuit. Following the hosts entertained at their home with a dessert course of rocky road fudge bars and ice cream.

The party table was covered with a green linen cloth and centered with an arrangement of Queen Ann's lace and 1 yellow daisies. BPW Club Hears Program On Pros And Cons Of Credit Everyone has 24 hours in a day, but not every working girl or working homemaker feels she is getting the most out of her 24 hours. This thought was sanctioned by Raleigh women attending a recent noon hour class called "Manage For All The Time You Need." Natalie Wimberley, home economics extension agent, Wake County, discussed with the group the idea that each individual must decide-what is important to her, and let this be a guiding point for the use of time. Other hints for good time use included: Making a time plan; buying time by purchasing time saying equipment, easy-to-care-for garments a'nd foods; and changing your housekeeping standards.

The importance of short rest periods ad time for self was also stressed, the agent added. Doss's sister, Mrs. David Steele, and his sister-in-law, Mrs. John Doss, entertained at the home of his mother, Mrs. Howard C.

Doss. Guests included friends, relatives and neighbors of the honored couple. After the bridal couple had opened gifts, guests were invited into the dining room for refreshments of lime punch, cake squares, open faced sandwiches, pickles and hors d'ouevres. Talley, newly elected president of the Burlington Business and Professional Women's Club presided at the regular dinner meeting of the club on Monday evening at Huey's Seafood Restaurant.

The program was given by the finance committee and Mrs. Doris Benson, chairman, gave a talk which she had used for State Convention on credit. Her talk included an enumeration of the types of credit available and she warned of pitfalls in securing credit where hidden charges and high rates of interest makes it a bad way to conduct business. At the same time she listed reasons why the use of credit is an avenue to saving on, cost. In using credit cards instead of cash, she listed among others these rules: (1) set limits on credit cards, (2) check every charge before signing the ticket, (3) Keep a record of the number of your credit card in.

a safe place, (4) Be sure your credit card is returned after each use, and (5) Take out credit card insurance. Among the "don'ts" for using credit cards she listed, first, dpn't sign up for credit card without knowing the rate of interest, and don't loan your credit card unless it is an exceptional circumstance. In speaking on money, she reassured persons that managing money wisely will create a secure future for themselves. Fifteen members of the club attended the State Convention in Pineburst earlier in June. On the state legisltive program for the coming year will be protection of migrant farm laborers, abolition of Hie death penalty and ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment to the Constitution.

Mrs. Betty Hogan, membership extension committee chairman, reported that the Mebane BPW Club has applied for a charter from national headquarters, adopted by-laws and elected officers with Mrs. Blanche Thompson as president. The Burlington club is arranging for a recognition tea for the group during July. It was announced that the club will sponsor an antique show October 12-15 with more than forty dealers exhibiting.

Mrs. Faye M. Talley and Mrs. Doris Denson were elected as delegates from the club to the National Con- vention, and Mrs Jesse Vreeland an alternate. Mrs.

Betty Hogan had as her guest Patty Parish. Mrs. Francis Butler was elected to membership in the club. The 1973 State Convention of N.C. Federation of Business and Professional Women will be held in Greensboro at the Holiday Inn-Four Season's Motel.
