Bucs Win Twin Bill NEW YORK, May 22. The Pittsburgh Pirates took both ends of a twin bill from the New York Giants, 4-2 and 8-6, yesterday to snap a four-game New York winning streak.

The Bucs scored twice in the ninth inning to win the opener and jumped off to an early lead to stay in the van all the way in the nightcap. The Pirate's Ralph Kiner walloped his eighth homer of the year in the first game and got three hits in the second game, one of them a 475-foot triple. The triple was one of the longest drives ever made to direct center in the Polo Grounds, clearing the head of centerfield-er Bobby Thompson of the Giants and falling on the cinders past the 'grass. Larry Jansen, who lost the first game to Bob Chesnes, was on even terms until the ninth. The Pirates then picked up two runs, after Giant left fielder Whitney Lockman opened the inning by misplaying Wally.

Westlake's liner into a double. Dale Coogan's single, a long outfield fly by pinch-hitter Johnny Hopp," which bounced out of Bobby Thompson's glove, and Ed Stanky's boot of Chesnes' double play grounder brought in the runs. Six Giant pitchers couldn't cancel the damage done starter Sheldon Jones in the second game. James was charged with five runs before he left in the second inning, with none out and the bases loaded. Kiner's prodigious triple, sandwiched by Coogan's single and an infield out, gave Pittsburgh two runs in the first inning.

In the second, Westlake and Danny Murtaugh singled and Clyde McCullough walked, before Jones went out. Reliefer Sal Maglie got one out before Pete Castiglione singled home the first of three runs. Coogan's force out brought another in and Kiner's single accounted for the third. Cliff Chambers who gained the victory, couldn't last through the sixth inning. Singles by Sam Cal-derone, Stankey, Monte Irvin and Hank Thompson, coupled with two walks, brought in four runs and Buc reliefer Forrest Main.
