10 Scranton Tribune, Monday, November 30, 1987 Messiah performance on Sunday lr i Ka 1- tT-4 YOU begins early morning newscasts today started broadcasting with stints as a reporter for WREO Radio, Youngstown, and disc jockey and sports play-by-play reporter at WMGW Radio, Meadville. He received a bachelor's degree from Allegheny College. He is a member and past president of the Lackawanna County Audubon Society and board member of the Northeast Pennsylvania Environmental Council. As the sports anchor for News 22 Daybreak, Galeti will sum-up the nights games and review the upcoming day's sports action. He was news director for WBWC Radio at Baldin Wallace College, Berea, Ohio, prior to joining WYOU.

With the addition of News 22 Daybreak," WYOU will air five live weekday newscasts. Derry began his career with Channel! 22 in 1971 as news anchor, and most recently has been News 22s weathercaster and environmental reporter. He had been a legislative reporter and news anchor for WTOL-TV in Toledo, Ohio prior to coming to Channel 22 and prior to that was news anchor at WKBN-TV, Youngstown, Ohio. He Starting today at 6:30 a.m., WYOU Television, Channel 22, will air a new early morning newscast, News 22 Daybreak featuring Joan Murray as anchor, Derry Bird forecasting the weather and Chuck Galeti reporting sports.
