GROVE CITY, Ohio The Triple-A Alliance unanimously elected Randy Mobley as its new commissioner at its fall meeting. Mobley will succeed outgoing Commissioner Harold Cooper, who will step down effective Oct. 31. Mobley steps into the position after serving as administrator of the Triple-A Alliance since its inception in 1988. He had previously served as administrator of the International League.

The 31-year-old Mobley is a graduate of Otterbein College and earned his master's degree in sports administration from Ohio State University. He has been associated with professional baseball for 10 years. In addition, the two Triple-A leagues (International and American Association) which make up the Alliance elected separate league presidents. Cooper will continue to serve as president of the International League and will become one of the two Triple-A appointments to the National Association Executive Committee.
