I feel very strongly about it." Robertson said he was offered the same contract he had last year. He reportedly made around $60,000 last season. world needs gasolines? rf ill. ALL SYSTEMS "GO" ALL SEASON LONG I season opens Saturday. few deer signs have been observed around the level and lower, particularly oh the desert slopes of the mountains. 'These reports come from game managers of the Department of Fish and Game who checked deer hunting areas on the eve of the In San Bernardino County as a whole, deer populations tew a slight upward trend "from last year and the buck carryover is good, the state department report said. Sugarloaf, Crab Flat and Big Pine Flat, in the general Big Bear area, have fair numbers of deer.

Converse Flat and Burro Flat in the Santa Ana Canyon are promising, although total deer numbers are below average. In the Lytle Creek area north of Fontana, deer are still at high elevations and will be difficult. Cold weather and storms would bring the deer down, and improve' hunting, but so far these weather conditions have not developed. The Lytle Creek hunting i' area includes Lytle Creek Can- yon, Lone Pine Canyon, Lytle Creek Ridge, Coldwater Canyon and Stockton Flats. In the Mojave Desert part of the county, north of Essex, the New York, Providence, Granite and Old Woman Mountains, and the Mid Hills, are open to hunting.

This is a huge area with a relatively small deer herd and hunting won't be easy. Hunters venturing into this desert country should know their around. Fire Hazard Deer hunters planning to open the season in the San Ber-; nardino Mountains should take due note of this warning: The fire hazard is extreme. "Further, a large portion of the mountains, particularly the south face, is off limits under fire closure rules. Other parts, too, are out to hunters under the county firearms closure rules.

In fact, about the only place in the county that is not subject, at least in part, to fire and firearms closures, is the Mojave Desert area. Jtfaps showing closure areas are available at U.S. Forest stations and sheriff's tions. Feed conditions for deer are good in the San Bernardino Mountains, with late spring storms producing a lot of new growth. Water conditions are t.

fair to good in the high coun- try, but not so good in the lower areas. Most bucks are fully ant-' Iered but still in velvet, the majority being forked horns and three-pointers. Most back roads and truck into the hunting areas ''are in good shape, although recent storms damaged some roads in the desert canyons east of Baldwin Lake. These areas are I south of Banning and east of Hemet. Access to Garner Valley is i vial the Fobes Ranch Road and the Goff Flats Road near 1 the Kenworthy guard station. There are access roads to Santa Rosa off Highway 74. The fire hazard is just as I bad in Riverside County as it 3 is in' San Bernardino. A new Riverside County fire arms ordinance has closed an area to shooting near Pine Cove and an area within a half-mile of the Banning-Idyll-wild Road near Black Mountain.

This ordinance also prohibits shooting within 300 yards of a highway or within 300 yards of any building without the written consent of the owner. LA. County A change in rules this year puts all of Los Angeles County in the late or inland deer season. Hunters going into the Angeles Forest should check on closed or restricted areas. For instance, the Crystal Lake and Big Pines recreation areas are closed to shooting.

The state department suggests hunters might try the Sawmill-Liebre Mountain area and along the Angeles Crest on northwest Pacifico, Cloudburst, Summit, Winston Ridge, Cooper Canyon, Mt. Williamson and Mt. Baden-Powell. On the desert slopes, fair deer hunting might be found in the high canyons in the Santiago, Bare Mountain and Little Rock areas. You and six of your neighbors, that's who.

Why? Because there are more combinations of engines and cars in America than anywhere else. How many gasolines are there? A good question. Most stations offer only two, some three. Here is the problem. Suppose your neighbor car won't stir out of the garage on regular, but all it needs are a few more octanes.

Maybe your car doesn't need premium; on the other hand, a half and half mixture isn't enough. That's why Hancock has seven motor-matched gasolines. Their Blender Pump delivers either regular or premium. If also mixes them together. The result? Seven powerful blends of gasoline, and one is ust right for your car.

Chances are, no other station las the gasoline your car really needs for peak per-: ormance and savings.
