Thompson was born in Wilmington on June 22, 1906, daughter of William and Lillian (Paro) Houghton. A resident of Arlington for most of her life, she had been an employee of Mack Molding Co. in Arlington for many years. She was a member of the Federated Church of East Arlington. Survivors include her husband, Edward R.

Thompson of East Arlington, whom she married on Jan. 1, 1925, in Manchester; two grandsons, Dr. Thomas E. Macksey of Bennington -and John T. Macksey of East Arl-.

ington; two granddaughters, Mrs. Paul (Barbara) M. Annetts of Mor-risville and Jean M. Macksey of Arlington; and two great-grandsons. A daughter, Marjorie T.

Macksey, and a brother, William Houghton, predeceased her. A funeral service will be held Satur- day at 1:30 p.m. at the Federated Church of East Arlington with the Rev. Joan N. O'Gorman, pastor, of- ficiating.

McGinn LONDONDERRY Aprlvate memorial service for Maurice; Roy McGinn, 65, who died Tuesday at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Hanover, N.H.; will be conducted at the convenience of the family at a later date by request of the deceased. Mr. McGinn was born Nov 18, 1920, in Peru, son of Roy and Lilia (Chadwick) McGinn. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Robert P. Shepardson American Legion Post in Londonderry.

He was well known in the residential construction business from 1959 to 1981. He was a former selectman of Londonderry and was a member of the West River Lodge 57, He is survived by his wife, the former Barbara Landman, whom he married June 19, 1944, in Springfield; a son, Richard McGinn; two daughters, Patricia Ann Stone of Gilroy, and Kathleen Alice Ainsworth of Norman, a brother, William McGinn of Londonderry; two sisters, Maude Mathews of Londonderry and Eunice Jensen of Silver Springs, three grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The Adams Funeral Home of Chester is in charge of Lillian R. Hamor A memorial service for Lillian R. Hamor, 77, of 98 North Street Extension, who died Wednesday evening at Beverly Manor Convalescent Center, will be held Thursday in the First Baptist Church, Frazer Avenue, Coll-ingswood, N.J.

Mrs. Hamor was born July 8. 1908, in Collingswood, daughter of William and Katie (Sawyer) Rogers. She was a resident of New Jersey for most of her life before moving to Rutland in 1982. A 1927 graduate of Glassboro (N.J.) State College, she was a member of Alpha Theta Phi Sorority.

She was a teacher in the Camden city school system in New Jersey for 40 years. Survivors include her husband, Charles D. Hamor of Pennsauken, N.J.; a daughter, Nancy H. Evans of Rutland; five sisters, a brother and three grandchildren. There will be no calling hours.

Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the American Red Cross, 233 S. Main Rutland, 05701. The Clifford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Grace O. Duffy Grace O'Donnell Duffy, 82, of Pond Meadow Park died Thursday morning at the Beverly Manor Convalescent Center.

Mrs. Duffy was born Jan. 23, 1904, in New York City, daughter of Joseph and Mary (Spellman) ODonnell. She was employed by the U.S. Postal Service in Elizabethtown, N.Y for 35 years, retiring in 1967.

She was married to Frank Duffy in 1969. She was a member of Christ the King Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Leo (Mary Jane) Smith of St. Albans and Mrs.

William (Joanne) Grace of North Canton, 11 grandchildren and 15 greatgrandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Christ the King Church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.

Memorial contributions may be made to ones favorite charity. The Clifford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Rae M. Cook BURLINGTON Rae Marie Cook, 26, a resident of 74 Hillside Terrace in Burlington for the last four years, died early Thursday morning at the Medical Center Hospital of Vermont in Burlington. Miss Cook was born in Northfield on May 10, 1960, daughter of Richard and Lily (Hardaker) Cook.

Survivors include her parents of East Granville; three brothers, Michael Cook of Jericho, Timothy Cook of East Granville and Lonnie Cook of Burlington; two sisters, Robin Reed of Northfield and Patsy Cook of San Antonio, Texas; and her maternal grandfather, Joe Hardaker of Ona, Fla. A funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Washington. There will be no calling hours. The Day Funeral of Randolph is in charge of arrangements.

Bourn DAN BY A committal service for Viola E. Bourn, 41, who died Dec. 15 at Rutland Regional Medical Center, was held Saturday in Scottsville Cemetery. The Rev. Lester Tufts officiated.

Ralph W. Landon PROCTOR Ralph William Landon, 74, of Proctor died Thursday afternoon at a Rutland nursing home after a long illness. He was born Nov. 9, 1911, in Florence, son of Henry and Hattie (Howland) Landon. A farmer in this area until 1960, he subsequently went to work for the Vermont Marble now OMYA retiring in 1976.

Mr. Landons wife, Nina Holden Landon, died in 1982. He is survived by a daughter Alice M. Baker of South Burlington; a sister, Iva OConnor of West Rutland; a brother, Carl Landon of Proctor; two grandchildren, a great-grandson, and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m.

JOHNSBURY (AP) -State police continued their search Thursday for a Walden man missing since May 6. A state police spokesman in St. Johnsbury said Russ Bovit, 30, whose address was listed as the Last Resort Farm in Walden, had not been seen for nine days. Police were searching the area and asking for anyone who knew of Bovits whereabouts to contact State Police at St. Johnsbury.

Bovit, originally from Summit, N.J., was described as a white male, 6 feet tall, 160 pounds, with blue eyes and dark brown, greying hair. Kunin Heading For Vacation Vermont Press Bureau MONTPELIER Gov. Madeleine M. Kuni will take a two-week vacation beginning Monday, Mary George, who schedules the governors appointments, said Wednesday. Kunin will leave Vermont Friday evening to attend the wedding of a friend in New York, George said, then fly out of New York City Monday to begin her vacation in Hawaii.

''The governor will return to the state the evening of May 29, George said. Snelling Outlines Stand on Draft MONTPELIER (AP) U.S. Senate candidate Richard Snelling, who on Monday called for universal military training, said in a statement Wednesday that such training would not have to be military in nature. In a released statement, a Snelling aide said options for universal service should include environmental cleanup and social and youth services. On Monday, Snelling said the United States should have a military program modeled after the one in Switzerland.

In that country, all 18-year-old men are required to undergo 18 weeks of intensive military training with annual, three-week refresher courses until the men turn 30. Snelling had offered the proposal during a press conferehce on U.S. defense. Search Is On For Manager MONTPELIER The Montpelier City Council Thursday began making plans to find a replacement for City Manager John MacLean, who announced Wednesday he was leaving his post at the end of June to become chief municipal administrator of Venice, Fla. In a closed-door session at Wednesdays City Council meeting, aldermen and Mayor Sally Rice set a salary range and made plans to start advertising immediately for a new city manager.

Its a long, drawn-out process trying to get a replacement, Council President Frederick H. Skeels said. If we have a city manager by Sept. 1, I'd consider it good, he said. June 27 will be MacLeans last day on the job.

Barre Town Has New Manager BARRE TOWN Nathaniel Tupper, 28, of Livermore Falls, Maine, has been chosen to replace Paul McGinley as Barre Town's top administrative officer, Selectman Richard N. Jensen said Thursday. Jensen, the chairman of the town board, said Tupper who is currently serving as town manager in the small Maine community of Livermore Falls will begin as Barre Town manager on June 18. Were looking forward to having him on board, Jensen said. He was by far the most qualified candidate we had.

In a telephone interview, Tupper said he was impressed by the friendliness of town and city officials and was hoping to have a good working relationship with both. Im looking forward to the challenge of a new and larger community, Tupper said. Its a new community with new state and town laws, as well as different personalities. Its going to be an adjustment. Tupper nas served for last three years as town manager in Livermore Falls, whose population is approximately 3,500.
