Louis, Miss. Also Included will be an Installment of the Legends of Bowling, plus skiing acrobatics In the World Cup Aerial Skiing series from Obersjock, Germany. On WCBS-2 at 4 30 Saturday, "SportSpectacular" will feature more powcrliftlng with the 9th Annual World Powerllf ting Championship taped at Dayton, Ohio. Five Americans will be among those defending the title. More horse racing from Aqueduct on WOR-9 at 6 on Saturday Following at 6 30 still on WOR-9 will be highlights of the Jets-Packers game on "New York Jets 1979." "NBC Sports" (WNBC-4 at 1 Sunday) will provide a full afternoon of AFC action with a doubleheader featuring regional coverage of six games, Including the Oakland Raiders-Houston Oilers clash, plus a crucial matchup between the New England Patriots and the Denver Broncos.

"NFL 79" will precede the coverage. The Atlanta Falcons will play the New York Giants in East Rutherford, live, on "NFL Football" (WCBS-2 at 4 Sunday). Special Reports "You" (WABC-7 at 7 Saturday) hostEllle Dylan visits Rutgers University in New Brunswick to take a close look at what Is happening In fraternities today and talks with Chinatown residents who provide viewers with a contemporary view of this traditional community. "Peanuts to the Presidency: The Jimmy Carter Campaign" WNEW-5 at 8 Sunday) has an assemblage of news footage, much of it attained from libraries and private sources. Charles Braverman followed Jimmy Carter's bandwagon as it traveled across post-Watergate America.

"Dog Day Afternoon" (WNBC-4 at 9 Sunday) finally comes to national television, properly edited and censored of all those profanities which made It so maliciously Interesting In movie theatres. This comedy-drama, directed by Sidney Lumct, Is based on an actual event and won an Oscar for best original screenplay. It stars AJ Paclno as a hapless bank robber and John Cazale as his dlmwltted partner. It also co-stars Charles Dumlng and Chris Sarandon.

Paclno and Cazale star as two amateur criminals who walk Into a neighborhood bank In New York just before closing time and announce a holdup. Before they can escape, however, the police arrive and attempt to talk the culprits Into surrendering Immediately. Trapped Inside with several hostages, the two refuse to leave the building. As news of the crime spreads throughout the area and Into the local media, Sonny Paclno) begins negotiating with Moretti (Dumlng), seeking to secure safe conduct out of the country. As the standoff continues, local interest grows, huge crowds gather behind police barricades, and Sonny Is even interviewed live on a news telecast.

By evening, the curious crowds are cheering the robbers and harassing the police. As Sonny reveals his reason for attempting the holdup and his family Is brought to the scene, spectators become even more Involved with the two robbers. Television audiences are also sure to become involved In this edition of "Dog Day Afternoon," and it will be difficult afterwards to decide who were the bad guys the robbers or the police? Movies A variety of new and old movies that are always pleasant to see will be aired. On Saturday WNBC-4 at 2 will present "Any Wednesday," the amusing version of the Broadway hit about a married tycoon and his girlfriend, starring Jason Robards and Jane Fonda. For Beatles' fans, there's "Help" (WOR-9 at 8 Saturday).

Finally, a premiere movie on Saturday on WCBS-2 at 9 stars Elizabeth Montgomery in "Act of Violence," the sensitive story of the effects of a brutal mugging on the life of a liberal-minded, divorced newswriter with a young son. The old classic by Cecil B. DeMille, "Cleopatra" (WNET-13 at 9 Saturday) will be shown. On Sunday, WNBC-4 at 4 will feature "Petulia," a sophisticated story of an extramarital love affair in San Francisco, starring Julie Christie, George C.Scott and Richard Chamberlain. "Some Like It Hot" (WOR-9 at 5 Sunday), a hilarious spoof of the Roaring twenties, will be seen on "The Big Preview" and stars Marilyn Monroe, Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis.

Another movie dealing with the sad fate which awaits young girls looking for fame and fortune in the big city, "Love for Rent" WABC-7 at 9) stars Lisa Eilbacher, Annette O'Toole, Rhonda Fleming, and Darren McGavln. Specials A special two-hour presentation of "The Love Boat" (WABC-7 at 8 Saturday) will be featured. It will be an unforgettable voyage filled with dazzling entertainment, romance, fun, and the fluttering hearts of every man on board (and In the audience) when many of the amazing Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders set sail along with a star-studded cast including Ginger Rogers, who stars as a beautiful movie star, and Stella Logan, who has agreed to be chairperson for the ship's charity cruise. On December 21, 1976, the General Assembly of the United Nations passed a resolution declaring 1979 the International Year of the Child. The Pacific Peoples Theatre Festival sponsored by the U.S.

State Department and other groups organized the 10-day festival held in San Jose, California. It consisted of more that 100 cultural events designed to exchange artistic and cultural Ideas between third world nations. The musical bridge linking the various countries Is captured on "A Special Day In the Life of the Child," to be rebroadcasted on "The CBS Festival of Lively Arts for Young People" (WCBS-2 at 2:30 Sunday). The aim of this festival celebrating the Year of the Child was to unite children and adults from all over the third world In the hopes that new Ideas and new understanding ould develop, creating a lasting improvement In the future. More fun for children and adults young-at-heart When WNBC-4 at 7 on Sunday presents a super-charged comedy about a science major who acquires superhuman powers when he consumes a bowl of cereal fortified with an untested vitamin formula concocted by a classmate in "Strongest Man In the World," a wacky two-hour comedy special on "Disney's Wonderful World." A special episode of "Mork and MIndy" will follow at 8 on WABC on Sunday.

In "Mork the Immigrant," Mork Is intrigued by the voting procedures in a democracy. After learning from Mindy that at least three voters are needed to prevent ties, Mork meets Sergei, a student cellist looking for a place to stay, and moves him into Mindy's apartment to solve the voting problem. Later, amazed to learn that he and Sergei are among thousands of aliens In this country, Mork joins his friend for the annual registration. That's when the fun and confusion really begins. Sports Plenty of sports this weekend.

The "College Football Regional Game" has USC versus Washington (WABC-7 at 4 Saturday) at Husky Stadium, Seattle, Washington. This regionally televised game Is part of the second half of an "NCAA Football" doubleheader; first half regionals air at 12:30. "This Is NFL" (WPIX-11 at 1:30 Saturday) also is aired.
