A10 THE TRIBUNE. SCRANTON. PA FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 1995 www Local Couple MISSING: Woman's JUDGE: Spending on family turns to TV for help campaigns up to $750,000 ordered to stand tria FROM PAGE A3 FROM PAGE A1 FROM PAGE A1 explosion. The area where the propane tank is located is secured with an 8-foot fence topped with barbed wire, O'Day said, and all the gates were locked. "The gates did not appear to have been tampered, with," he said.

"Someone eould have crawled under the fence, but there were no fresh markings in the dirt." Kevin Snyder, 33, a cousin of Jackie Snyder, testified he was with the couple when they placed the bomb. He said he walked into a garage when Jim Ramey was making the device. Defense attorney Michael J. Gathany of Hallstead asked about Snyder's criminal record and if he had been evicted from the co-defendants' home. Snyder said he was arrested for DUI in Florida but had no criminal record in this state.

He said he had been living with the co-defendants until he was evicted Aug. 8. Gathany also called members of Jackie Snyder's family as alibi witnesses, including her father, Robert Snyder, and her sister, Patty Van Ostrand. Both said the pair had been at Robert Snyder's home refurbishing a kitchen between 11 p.m. on May 16 and 1 a.m on May 17.

Both said the co-defendants did not leave during that time. Dayton scheduled the couple for a Nov. 20 arraignment in Susquehanna County Court. Earlier in the day, the Pieski camp announced it would notify the Election Bureau of the new loan, which boosts his personal spending to more than $350,000. The letter on which it was reported also listed a $500 donation from Clement A- Markowski of Kingston.

The principal source of Mi-nora's late money was his family. His brother, Thomas, a physician, was listed for $50,500, and his brother, Amil, an attorney, for $25,500. That boosts total contributions by Minora's brothers to more than $137,000. He also invested nearly $78,000 of his own money. District Attorney Michael Bar-rasse, who is running for a seat on the state Supreme Court, has complied regularly with the law.

He filed reports on three of the last four days listing additional donations of $30,000. The latest contributions put Barrasse's war chest for the statewide run at $340,000, meaning he probably will end up spending less than each of the county judge candidates. Other last-minute contributors to Minora include: Judith Mc-Grath of New York City, Margaret O'Connor of Clark's Summit, Joseph Cognetti of Clark's Summit and Nasser Manna says, but all were useless, except one. Dec. 22, 1994, after the LaMannas distributed pamphlets with Renee's picture throughout the New York City area and East Coast, Mrs.

LaManna said, she got a call from an employee of NYNEX, a New York City telephone company, who claimed he had seen a girl matching her daughter's description riding a train in lower Manhattan. The LaMannas hired a private detective, who spent four days interviewing people connected with the train and at the station where Renee reportedly got off. Ann LaManna and her husband also traveled to New York to speak with Jim Bricks, the NYNEX employee who reported spotting Renee, but nothing ever came of their efforts, Mrs. LaManna turned to "Unsolved Mysteries" 15 months ago. "They're not going to do a full segment on her disappearance," Mrs.

LaManna said, "but what they call a "Special Alert Bulletin," in which they will air a picture of Renee and make a brief announcement about her disappearance where she disappeared from and when." The segment will air at 8 p.m. Friday on WBRE-TV. to Florida, where they now reside. Renee, meanwhile, attended the University of Scranton, where she earned bachelor's and master's degrees in a program for gifted students. She then moved to New York City, where she lived for 12 years, except for a short time she served in the Peace Corps in El Jadida and Morocco.

She is multilingual, with a working knowledge of French, Arabic and Portugese. The LaMannas' ordeal began in New York City. During the early morning hours of Jan. 8, 1994, Ann La-Manna said, her daughter was found wandering around her Queens neighborhood. Emergency Medical Service personnel took her to Queens Hospital, where she received no treatment and was released after giving hospital officials the number of her sister's beachfront apartment in Ocean City.

Because she had pneumonia at the time, Mrs. LaManna said, Renee's sister could not travel to New York to pick her up but arranged for a doctor friend to bring Renee back to Ocean City in a limousine. About an hour after arriving at her sister's apartment, Mrs. LaManna said, Renee had a "panic attack, ran out the door and disappeared into the night, never to be seen again. "She had no money, no identification, no credit cards, no shoes," Mrs.

LaManna said of her daughter, who is 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs between 110 and 120 pounds. "All she was wearing was red silk pajama bottoms, a red sweatshirt and a terry-cloth robe. The robe subsequently was. found on a street near downtown Ocean City. Other clues as to her disappearance surfaced, Mrs.
