Sports D8 The Berkshire Eagle, Tuesday, May 15, 1990 Braves rattle out 17 hits to down Wahconah, 14-7 The Warriors tied the score briefly in the fourth on a booming two-run double by Keith Reynolds, which landed on the hill in centerfield bordering the Braves' track. J.R. Rand had four hits for the Braves and Tarjick followed with three. Four other Braves had two safeties apiece. Goldsmith walked seven and threw six wild pitches, but aside from Reynolds' double, he surrendered just two singles.

"This at least keeps us in the tournament picture," observed Taconic coach Dave Lucaroni. walked one and struck out eight. Brendan Hayes got the win, and matched Hoff. Hayes gave up six hits and one walk, while striking out nine. McCann was fighting from behind the whole game.

The Millionaires scored a run in the fourth on Matt Mattina's squeeze-bunt RBI, but McCann tied the score with an unearned run in the bottom of the fourth. Lenox took a 2-1 lead in the sixth on Mike Marchand's RBI single, but the Hornets tied the score in the bottom of the sixth when Dan Good-ell belted a solo home run over the left field fence. team dodged a bullet. After the teams exchanged two unearned runs apiece in the second, Wahconah cut the deficit to 7-5 in the third, with all three runs coming across on wild pitches. McCann had the tying runs on base in the seventh inning after sophomore Tammy Magnant lashed a two-run triple and the next batter walked. Karen Horton and Amy Gleason had back-to-back RBI singles and Jennifer Meehan's RBI fielder's choice gave Greylock the lead for keeps. The Mounties added three runs in the third and three in the fifth.

Taconic scored once in the fifth and twice in the sixth. Jennifer Jackson hit her first home run for Mount Greylock in the second, with none on. Jackson was 2-for-3 with two RBI to pace the Mounties. Monument Mountain's game with Mount Anthony was postponed until today because of wet grounds. Mount Everett 11, Drury 5 SHEFFIELD The anticipated pitching showdown between Drury's Jennifer Moreau and Everett's Dianne Bettis was intact for four innings, as the Eagles owned just a 1-0 lead.

The Blue Devils took a shortlived 2-1 lead in the fifth, but the Eagles chased Moreau (9-4) with six runs in the home fifth, and tacked on four more runs in the sixth. Tasha Grotz and Stephanie Saunders each had two-run doubles in the Eagles' fifth while Kim Moynihan and Brooke Loder each had run-scoring singles. Bettis (9-3) allowed eight hits and three walks, striking out three. Loder had three hits in the game to pace the winners while Moynihan, Saunders, Nancy Joch and Andrea Novak each connected for two safeties. Erin O'Hearn and Sara Boisvert each had two hits for Drury.

Hoosac 2, Lee 1 LEE Becky Aulisio's single in the top of the seventh scored Heidi Syrett with the winning run. Syrett had led off the inning with a walk and was sacrificed to second, setting the stage for Aulisio's base hit. Lee scored first in the second inning when Becky Rollins singled, was sacrificed to second base and moved to third on a passed ball. Katie Cinella singled to score Rollins. Hoosac tied the game in the fifth inning when Fletcher walked, moved to second on a single by Chilli Lupo and scored when Melissa Armatta singled.

Jill Felix (8-5) was the winning pitcher for the Hurricanes allowing two walks and five hits. Kel-sey Scarpa (5-4) went five innings before being relieved by Michele Naventi.
