1 The Coming Excursion. The committee in charge of the cominandery and military band excursion, has about completed all arrangements for the cruise to Morgan-town, and now only awaits the day to pat its plans into execution. The steamer Elizabeth wiil convey the party and is scheduled to leave the wharf at 8:30 o'clock, Wednesday evening. The run to Morgantown will be made at night, and it is expected to reach that point next morning by six o'clock. But fuw stops will be made above this city which will permit tne steamer to make good lime, breakfast will be taken Thursday morning at the Walkce House, iu iMorgantown.

and the well known reputation of this hostelry is a sutlicient guarantee that the excursionists will be treated in a royal manner. After spending a couple of hours in this quaint old West Virginia town, the party will be re-embark and the steamer start ou the return trip home. Excellent music will enliven the occasion, the Military band, in faultless and dazzling white uniforms, furnishing sweet strains to awaken the echoes among the bills, while Prof. Burke's string orchestra from. Washington.

Pa wiil keep time for the feet of the merry dances. A refreshment stand will be established on board, where hot coffee, sandwiches and lunches can be obtained at a nominal pr.ee. The committee has adopted stringent rules as to the invitations and only those holding a card, properly endorsed can purchase a ticket. The members say that under no circumstances will a person be permitted to accompany the excursion unless they have an invitation. The prospects of the outing are excellent, and from indications a large party will participate in the pleasures of the day.

The Uniontown postofflce having; passed from third to second class, the government will now furnish the building. Five years ago Inst Friday the funeral of General Grant took place in Now York, and as yet no suitable monument marks the resting place of the hero of Appomattox. Isaac Dawson, of California, will start for the Soldier's Home at South Hampten, Va this week. He expects to be much benefitted by the change of climate.
