Kim Rixman, Colonie (47.12): 200 freestyle relay: 1 Holyoke The Holyoke YMCA won the boys' title and the Colonie Aquatics took the girls' crown in the seventh annual Valentine Invitational Swim Meet yesterday at the Pittsfield YMCA. Holyoke finished first with 286 points, 57 more than the boys' runner-up, the Bennington YMCA.

The Pittsfield YMCA was third with 222 points, the Northern Berkshire YMCA fourth with 211 points and the Pittsfield Boys' Club fifth with 139 points. The Colonie Aquatics' total of 358 was enough to defeat Holyoke by 16 points in the girls' competition. The Pittsfield YMCA finished third with 339 points, the Boys' Club fourth with 112 points and the Northern Berkshire YMCA seventh with 56 points. The Pittsfield YMCA had three high points winners and the Northern Berkshire YMCA two. The high points champions are determined by performances in the maximum five events.

In the age 13-14 class, Matt Smith of the Pittsfield YMCA was the high point winner in the boys' category with 43 points and teammate Kriste Kleiner won the girls' title with 45 points. Chris Cotter of the Pittsfield YMCA won the age 15-18 boys' title with 41 points. Northern Berkshire's Justin Fili-ault was first in the boys' age 9-10 category with 45 points and teammate Matt Glogowski finished first in the boys' age 11-12 category with 43 points. Bennington Denotes meet record Girls' Club Invitational PITTSFIELD The Pittsfield Girls Club will host the 21st annual Bertehire County Invitational Girls Swim Meet, March 4, beginning at 11:30 a.m. The meet is sponsored by Colvin Glass, Stevenson Insurance, and New England Advertising Specialties. Entrants will compete in categories according to age.

These are: 8 and under, 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14. Novice classes will be offered to girls not competing on swim teams. These classes will include girls 10 and under and those 11-14. All events will be run as timed finals. Competitors may enter only three events, with a $1 fee charged for each.

T-shirts will be given to the first 100 entries. Medals will be awarded to the first- and second-place finishers and ribbons to those finishing third and fourth. Swimmers are asked to report to the pool by 11 for a practice session. Bathing caps are required. All regular swimming activities will be cancelled that day.

Additional information may be obtained bycalling Myra Palmer, swimming director, at the Girls Club. Smith of the Pittsfield YMCA set a record in the 100 meter backstroke with a time of 1:08.84, and teammate Bill Artz established a meet mark of 1:14.69 in the 100 meter breaststroke. Stephanie Glogowski of the Northern Berkshire YMCA won the 100 meter breaststroke in the girls' age 13-14 class in a record time of 1:21.45. A total of 272 swimmers from nine teams were entered in the meet. 1285 individual events were swum, and 40 relays.

Mark Berube and Chris McGinnis shared the shutout in goal by combining for 19 saves.

Spaniol and Roberts also scored three goals apiece in the game with Dutchess, while Kamienski dished out three assists. Roberts scored two second-period goals within a span of 3V3 minutes to break a 2-2 tie and lift the Boys' Club team past Troy. Backer also had a pair of goals in that game, while David McNabb and John Bianco tallied once each. Sheffield Mites take two The Sheffield Youth Hockey Association's Mite All-Star team scored a pair of wins in recent action, rolling to a 9-2 victory over Pittsfield and a 3-1 win over the Nonotuck All-Stars of Easthampton. Chris Pavoni scored four goals and assisted on another in the win over Pittsfield.

Tom Brazie added two goals and Nicholas Yonnone contributed three assists. Pavoni notched a pair Of goals and Evan Keiley added a goal and two assists in the game with Nonotuck. League results PITTSFIELD Harold Armstrong scored two goals and added an assist to lead Colvin Glass to a 7-4 win over Jones Trophy in a Boys' Club BantamMidget league game. Mark DiGrigoli added a goal and three assists for Colvin while Shawn Garvey had two goals and an assist for Jones. Colvin also defeated Jones 11-1 behind DiGrigoli's hat trick.

Eric Ellsworth added three assists. Garvey scored the lone goal for Jones. Ellsworth and DiGrigoli each scored twice in a 12-3 win over Pittsfield Co-Op Bank. Matt Parise had a hat-trick to lead Pittsfield Co-Op Bank to an 11-5 win over Jones Trophy. Gordie Soldato added a pair of goals for Co-Op.

Garvey scored four goals for Jones. Matt Ceradini's goal with 3:34 remaining enabled Jones Trophy to score a 6-5 win over Pittsfield Co-Op Bank in the Boys' Club Bantam Midget League. Shawn Garvey added two goals and an assist for Jones. Marcus Scarafoni scored two goals and Matt Bazonski contributed three assists for Co-Op. Shawn Garvey and Ryan Garvey each had a goal and an assist as Co-Op then defeated Jones 3-1.

Gordie Soldato scored the lone goal for Jones. A four-goal effort by Jeff Le-Prevost helped boost Colvin Glass to a 9-3 romp past Pittsfield Co-Op. Harold Armstrong and Todd Eddy each added a goal and two assists for Colvin, while Bill Bird had a goal and an assist for the Bankers. Mark DiGrigoli scored four goals to lead Colvin to a 7-1 triumph over Jones Trophy, while Bazonski's fourth goal of the game proved to be the game-winner as Co-Op slipped past Colvin 6-5. Soldato scored three goals and assisted on another for Colvin.

The Pittsfield Squirt and Peewee A All-Stars both captured the Tri-State League playoffs championships, with the Peewees going 3-0 ana the Squirts 2-0-1 in tournaments last weekend. The Squirts, who had never before won a Tri-State crown, scored a 5-2 win over the Dutchess County All-Stars of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and a 4-1 victory over Troy, N.Y., before playing the Capital All-Stars of Albany, N.Y., to a 3-3 tie. Andy Herman's second goal of the game at 9:53 of the third period lifted Pittsfield into its deadlock with Albany. Todd Lange scored the other goal for Pittsfield, tying the game earlier in the final period at 2-2. Eric Herman scored a pair of goals in the win over Troy, while Mike Doyle added a goal and an assist.

Doyle and Jason Kotowski each scored two goals and assisted on another in the game with Dutchess County. Tim Hannigan had the other Boys' Club goal, while brothers Eric and Andy Herman each dished out a pair of assists. Scott Backer and Matt Massaro shared the duties in Pittsfield's goal. The Peewees routed Capital 14-0, downed Dutchess 8-5 and scored a 6-4 triumph over Troy. Ian Roberts and Marc Spaniol each had the hat trick in Pittsfield's win over Capital, while Micah Powell, Brett Kamienski and Nathan Backer added two goals apiece.

Powell also contributed four Area Sports Kim Airoldi wins Jr. Olympic ski race nue, Pittsfield. The event is open to the public. and Mandy Lahey of Jiminy Peak and Stephen Boya and Niki Lussier of Butternut. HOCKEY TRIP: The Williams-town Youth Center will sponsor a trip to the Hartford Civic Center on Feb.

25 to see the Boston Bruins play against the Hartford Whalers. The cost of $25 includes a ticket and transportation. A $10 non-refundable deposit will be required. MASTERS SWIMMING: The Berkshire Masters' swim team will take on the Taconic swim team Wednesday at 7:30 at the Boys' Club. Anyone age 25 or older who wishes to compete should contact Dennis Witzgall of 151 Tower Road, Dalton, or Josh Weeks of Cliff Ave CROSS COUNTRY SKIING: Kim Airoldi of Lenox finished first yesterday in a 5-kilometer Junior Olympic ski race at Prospect Mountain in Woodford, Vt.

Airoldi is believed to be the first county girl to win a Junior Olympic race, which features top skiers from around New England. She completed the course in 20 minutes, 45 seconds, to win the girls' age 14-15 category. Art Sanders, who skis for Wah-conah, finished third in the boys' age 16-17 class in 36:33. Chris Weaver of Lenox was fifth in the boys' age 18-19 category in 36:22. All the boys' races are 10 kilometers, long.

Tim Weaver and Jason Romeo, both of Lenox, were fifth and 10th, respectively, in the boys' age 14-15 race. Weaver finished in 39:08 and Romeo in 40:34.
