Herald OBITUARIES Patzke Nelson Services tor Jimmy Patzke, 24, of Calvert, and formerly of the Cameron area, were held Sunday, Feb. 21 at Marek- Burns Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron with the Rev. Calvin Beckendorf officiating. Burial was in the String Prairie Cemetery Mr.

Patzke died after a traffic accident Friday, Feb. 19 when his pickup collided with a truck in Hearne. Mr. Patzke was born in Rosebud. He attended Cameron schools and for some years lived near Cameron.

He was a rancher at the time of his death He is survived by his wife, Sandy Patzke, a son, James Roy and a daughter, Karin Lynn, all of Calvert; his mother, Barbara Patzke, of Crossroads; three brothers. Alvert Patzke of Vicksburg, Michael Patzke of Jones Prairie and Mark Patzke of Bremond; and his grandfather, A Patzke of Crossraods. Thornell Services for William Thornell. HO. of Rogers were Saturday at Gommert Funeral Home here with the Rev.

Services were at 2 Monday in Phillips and Luckey Fun eral Home in Rockdale with the Rev Roy Bruton officiating Burial was in Oak Lawn Cemetery in Rockdale. Mr Birkhead was born in New- Blaine, Ark and had lived in Rockdale for 27 years He was a retired farmer-rancher and civil servant. Survivors are his widow, Veda Birkhead of Rockdale; a son, James Birkhead of Rockdale; a sister, Pearlie Fay Rodgers of Paris, and one grandchild Svrcek Former Resident Finalist In National Merit Program Duane Fuquay, son of Sue Fuquay, of Comanche, received confirmation last week that he is a finalist in the National Merit Scholarship Program.

Svrcek of Rockdale; two brothers, David Wayne Svrcek and Kenneth David Svreck, both of Rockdale; a sister, Michelle Marie Svrcek of Rockdale; and grandparents, Mr and Mrs. Ignatz Svrcek of La Grange and Mr. and Mrs John Kadlecek of La Grange. Vrazel John Vrazel, 88, of Cameron died Sunday morning in a Cameron hospital after a lengthy illness.

The regional science fair recognizes outstanding science projects and offers students a chance to compete in the International Science and Engineering Fair in Houston in May.
