Receives $7,500 Matching Grant ANNVILLE The National Science Foundation has issued grant to thu department of physics at Lebanon Valley College for the support of an "Undergraduate Instructional Scientific Equipment Program." The grant is under the direction of Dr.

Jacob L. Rhodes, chairman of the department of physics, and teiminates May 31, 1966. It will enable Lebanon Valley College lo expedite current Plans for the improvement and development of undergraduate curriculum in physics. Dr. Rhodes points out that "Student enrollment in physics courses and the number of physics majors have more than tripled over the past seven years.

The independent study program has increasingly contributed to the development of departmental majors.
