George Gray, 778 North Evans street, and Mrs' Polly John, 015 South street, were the scenes Tuesday afternoon of circle meetings of the Women's association of First Presbyterian church. During uhe meeting of circle one in the John home. Mrs. A. Kammer- was named secretary to All the vacancy left by Mrs.

George Cook, who will move from Pottstown in the near future. Mrs. Paul Keiser reported sending gifts to two servicemen. Treasurer's report was; given by Mrs. S.

P. Jenkins. Mrs. Russell Adams presided during the business session and Mrs. Raymond Thomas presented a program.

The group began sewing on patch-work quilts. Circle two was entertained by Mrs. Russell Wells and her daughter, Miss Mary Wells. Mrs. John Ruffin and Mrs, George Robins had charge of a program featuring missionary work 011 the islands of Malaya Peninsula where many of our servicemen have been nursed and helped back to life by the kindly disposed natives, thus showing the practical value of mission enterprise.

At the business session Mrs. Ralph Weis read the minutes and the circle voted to support the financial drive of the church. It was announced the group would hold a picnic at the home of Mrs. Robert Burleigh, Douglassville. Mrs.

Underman was hostess to circle three. The proposed picnic of circle three was held indoors and supper was served in the dining room to nine members. During the business session over which Mrs. Charles Lepperd presided it was voted to aid in the financial drive. Volunteers to help in the nursery during the month of July were called for and several responses were made.

It was announced the committee to make cookies for Valley Forge General hospital far exceeded quota. Those helping were Mrs. A. B. Hallock, Mrs.

Lin wood Decker and Mrs. Coleman Smith. Summer df- fering envelopes were distributed to the group. Mrs. Gray entertained circle four at a covered dish luncheon.

Mrs. Harry Shope presided in the absence of Mrs. Horace Ludwig. A discussion on compulsory military training featured the meeting. Treasurer's report was given by Mrs.

Edwin S. Orr and Mrs. E. L. Buehler acted as secretary.

SOCIAL ACTIVITIES Soloist MISS FREDA SCHINDLER MLss Freda Schindler, who will be one of the soloists at the final community concert of the indoor season given by the Pottstown Band in the Pottstown High school auditorium Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Miss Schindler will sing several numbers. Social Calenda Pigeon Creek Bible Club Meets in Bechtel Home Pigeon Creek Bible club met recently in the home of Miss Annie JEjechtel. Mrs. Irma Gordon, of Nantmeal, gave an object talk.

Ray Strickland played several piano solos and Gladys Me Elroy and Doris Seibold sang a duet. Choruses learned during the year were sung with Charlotte Hatcher, assistant pianist. A doggie roast was planned for Friday evening. Present were Doris Trythall, Lillian Hatcher, Charlotte Hatcher. Miss Rosemarie Fag- leysvllie, a member of the Pottstown High school graduating class, was admitted to Pottstown hospital yesterday as a surgical patient. Wyndcroft School Closes Term With Out-Door Exercises A play, was presented by the pupils of the Wyndcroft school last night to mark the clasing of the school year. A large audience of friends and patrons of the school were present and enjoyed the out-door performance. The setting was well adapted to the costumes and dances of England.
