Beside this plot of land another similarly infested half-acre was left unsprayed. Last week the department found the ticks on the unsprayed area were much more numerous. Another half-acre in Falmouth was sprayed the same week. The spray proved less effective here. This was probably because picnickers had invadgd the area bringing ticks with them.

Last week plots were sprayed in South Truro, iDennis, and Eastham. Three hundred samples of ticks have already been mailed to the department from 100 areas. But more ticks are wanted. The department would like especially to know of ticks found on animals other than dogs andcats, anjd of ticks found in the northern and western part of the state. Questionnaire forms may be obtained from the local Boards of Health, or by writing in to the State Health Department at the State House.
