Sinden, in his rookie season as an NHL pilot, has a reasonable explanation for not wanting to see the leagues best players in ac-tion. I see enough of those guys shooting at our net, he said. The last place Bruins have had 127 goals scored on them in 36 games.

iH 1 it By DAVE O'HARA BOSTON (AP) The Philadelphia 76ers are letting the Boston Celtics do the talking while they keep on winning at a record pace in the National Basketball Association. The 76ers are bidding to end Bostons eight-year reign as NBA champions. They shocked i the Celtics with 17 straight points within 34 minutes in the second period and rolled to an easy 110-95 victory Sunday. Philadelphia boosted its Eastern Division lead to 9j games. The Celtics, who obviously must look ahead to the playoffs in hopes of keeping the title, continued to maintain they have the best bench in the league, but even most partisan fans would find it hard to believe.

We lost the game on that 17-point spree, Boston Player-Coach Bill Russell said. We stopped running and began tak-' ing bad shots. I told everyone to run, run, run until they got tired and then tell me. Best Bench Weve got the best bench in the league and have the strength to run for 48 minutes a game. They just didnt do it.

Wilt Chamberlain, sporting a new look as a complete player instead of just a high-scoring star, played a top role as he scored 19 points, grabbed 25 rebounds, blocked 13 shots and set up baskets for the 76ers. Elsewhere, Los Angeles tripped Detroit 127-116, St. Louis edged San Francisco 114-112, and Chicago routed the New York Knicks 131-116. Jerry Wests 39 points led the Lakers into a tie for third place with Detroit in the Western Division as the Pistons lost their sixth straight at home. West scored 17 of his points in the third quarter when Los Angeles pulled from a 60-58 half-r time lead to a 96-83 spread.

Dave Bing had 31 for Detroit. Len Wilkens' kept second-place St. Louis two games ahead of the Lakers and Pistons and 8 14 behind San Francisco by dropping a hook shot with three seconds left to beat the Warriors. Rick Barry, who scored 48, tied the game moments before with two free throws. Nate Thurmond of the Warriors 'and Zelmo Beaty of the Hawks each had 26 points.

Chicagos balanced attack took an early lead and New York never got closer than five in the second half. Bob Boozer had 33, Guy Rodgers 28 Erwin Mueller 24 and Jerry Sloan 22 for the Bulls. Dick Barnett had 30 for the Knicks. In Saturdays action, Boston beat. Baltimore 115-106, Cincinnati bombed St.

Alcindor scored 37 points in his teams 116-78 victory. It was the 12th straight for the upbeaten Bruins.
