Sinai MOUNT SINAI. Egypt (UPI) President Anwar Sadat appealed to believers in God worldwide yesterday to contribute "even with a few pennies" to a house of worship he plans to build for Christians, Moslems and Jews on Mount Sinai The complex Sadat's pet project since Egypt concluded a peace treaty with Israel last year and regained two-thirds of the Sinai peninsula including Mount Sinai will consist of a church, a mosque and a synagogue. The president launched the international drive for funds from a makeshift mosque in his new presidential retreat in the so-called "Valley of Rest," in the shadow of the mountain where the Bible says God gave Moses the ten commandments. Sadat made his appeal at a news conference before going into seclusion in his retreat for meditation and prayer for the five remaining days of the Moslem fasting month of Ramadan. "To symbolize the real fraternity among the followers of the three religions, we are building on this sacred spot a center for the worship of God which embodies a mosque, a church and a synagogue, he said Addressing "believers in all corners of the world," Sadat said: "I hereby invite you all to contribute to the setting up of this center which will be a living symbol of the brotherhood of man and a lighthouse that would rekindle the spirit of coexistence and tolerance among nations Sadat said he has authorized a reply by Egypt this week over a new Israeli law reaffirming sovereignty over all of Jerusalem, including the eastern sector WIIDE Henry In loving memory of my husband, who passed owoy 4 years ogo August 7 1976 ment Amnesty International, the international human rights group, said Tuesday that South Korea had refused to let investigators into the country to check reports of mass arrests and alleged torture of political prisoners IN MEM0RIAM Forever thoughts Funeral rty heorl ond BELOVED WIFE AMEUAl-WILDE PATERSON Harold Leon Rice.

Grimm, chief financier for the $3 million attempt to locate the sunken ocean liner, said he received news of the sonar sitings yesterday from the projeot director, Dr William B. Ryan.

The team of filmmakers, scientists and adventurers sailed from Florida in mid-July aboard the H.J.W. Fay re-1 search ship, en route to a 100-square-mile area 95 miles south of the Grand Banks of Newfoundland where the search is concentrated. Grimm said the team has identified three possible "targets" where equipment will be focused today "They may be ships sunk ln World War II, but there are three definite target areas," he said. A "camera sled" will be lowered into the 12,000 foot plus depths today to relay computer-enhanced images of the targets, he said. "It's quite vivid You could clearly Identify an anchor, a chain, a hand railing certainly a smokestack," said Grimm.

The Titanic had four smokestacks. The ship, on her maiden voyage from Southampton, England to New York, sank on April 15, 1912, taking more than 1,500 of the 2,224 passengers and crew-down with her. Chrysler unveils long-awaited K-model car DETROIT (UPD Chrysler Corp hoping its year of agony is behind it, yesterday celebrated the birth of the new car model upon which the auto maker's survival depends The first production K-car touted for more than a year arrived at the end of a Detroit assembly line and was driven away by Chrysler Chairman Lee A. Iacocca. Workers cheered and applauded.

Iacocca for the past year the stem leader of a corporate giant on the brink of disaster again became the super-salesman. "Everybody's waiting for the K-cars and nobody's going to be disappointed." he told reporters, Chrysler executives and an array of guests The word was no longer simply that Chrysler must sell the new. front-wheel drive, fuel-efficient compacts to survive but that the cars already are well-received. "We have enough orders in hand right now to cover production of half of all the cars we can build between now and the end of the year," Iacocca said. "And they haven't even been shown yet "Nobody has ever had that kind of order backlog before production started but the K-cars do Since Chrysler plans to build 180.000 of the new compacts through the rest of 1980, that implies orders in hand from dealers and fleet purchases of about 90,000 cars.

Both people on the smaller plane were killed, but Pride escaped injury and kept a concert date with 600 nuns. The smaller plane, a Cessna 172 trainer, skimmed the top of the chartered Fairchild 27 which carried Pride, 13 members of his entourage and two crewmen, then plummeted to the ground. Pride's plane was forced to make an emergency landing on one engine, but all 16 people aboard escaped injury. Pride, the first black to make it big in the country music field, said no one aboard the Fairchild knew what had happened until the plane landed. "The pilot was descending and all of a sudden we heard a whomp a thud," Pride said.

"The plane shimmied and the pilot came on and said, 'buckle up. we've got a A few minutes later he brought it in. "It yawed all the way in but we landed safely.
