Elsewhere in this issue is the monthly notice of the water company notifying customers to pay bills or have the water shut off. Accompanying it is also the notice that spigots found wasting water will also necessitate the shutting off. The company explains it all by saying that they are unable to keep the reservoir full when millions of gallons are leaking out continually from pipes. They have estimated that oyer 1,000,000 gallons were lost last months, perhaps the much injured citizens who have been complaining of poor water can nail one of the arguments of the company regarding impure water, if they stop leakage. Fix up your pipes neighbors.

William Downer, senior member of the firm of Downer Brothers, whose withdrawal from the firm was noted in a recent issue, left Monongahela, Thursday for Knoxville, Tennesee to locate in the hardware and plumbing business. Mr. Downer, goes at this time simply to over look the field and if favorably impressed will remove his family there later.

He hopes by this enterprise to give opportunities to his sons who will engage in the business with him. Mr. Downer will be missed from church, business and fraternal circles, with which he has identified himself taking unusual interest therein. Well wishes for his success go with him from every one who knows him.
