The president stated that the various committes of the Candidates Dinner are working hard and plans are progressing. Main business of the evening was the selection of delegates who will represent the local club at the annual convention in Harrisburg. In addition to the president, Armida Cooper and Mary Dutch were selected as delegates. First alternate is Mae Charlton and second alternate, Louise Griffith. Jennie Sarver chairman of the Social Committee, appointed the following to serve for next month: Betty Kovacik, chair Foreign Student To Speak To Elizabeth Club A foreign exchange student, Maria Christina Rebella Vegli-ola from Montevideo, Uruguay, who is a senior at Elizabeth-Forward High School, will give a talk and show slides at the April meeting of the Woman's Club of Elizabeth.

The meeting will be held Tuesday, April 19, at 8 p.m. in the Pittsburgh National Bank hall. The business session will be conducted by Mrs. Peter Trafalis. Program Chairman Mrs.

Robert Charles will introduce the speaker. Miss Vegliola makes her home with Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Gartley of Constitution Boston, Pa. The nomination committee, comprising Mrs.

Wayne McEU ravey, Mrs. Clyde Barnett, Mrs. John Thompson and Mrs. Peter Julian, will choose a slate of officers for the coming two years. Hostesses for the evening will be Mrs.

Anthony Frost, Mrs. Carl Fekula, Mrs. Joseph Duff-ner, Mrs. Fred Curry and Mrs. W.

MONONGAHELA Licensed Practical Nurses Install New Officers Donora Forecast Club elected new officiers when it met Mon day evening in the Donora Community Center. Plans also were made for the Fourteenth Anniversary Ban quet, closing event of the club year, which will be held Monday, May 9, in the Donora Elks Club. Mrs. Clyde Willebrand was elected president; Mary Jane Rabe, vice president; Mrs.

Russell Pcrney, recording secretary; Mrs. Walter Debowski, corresponding secretary; and Lillian Bier, treasurer for the coming year. These officers will be installed at the closing banquet, which will begin at 7 p.m. May 9. Mrs.

James Morton is gener al chairman, and is being aided by Mrs. K. W. Schempp, Jr. on reservations; Mrs.

Alden F. Miller, Jr. on installation and gift presentation; Mrs. Walter Debowski and Mrs. James A.

A letter sent from Senator William J. Lane, State Senate candidate, was read by President Mrs. Patterson. The president then introduced the guests present who were: Mrs. Mona Murphy, Mrs.

Ella- nora Warren, president of the Jeffersonian Club, Abe Faiella, and David B. Moses. Members recited the Club Motto at the conclusion of the meeting. The door prize was won by one of the guests, Mrs. Warren.

Members of the Women's Democratic Club of Mononga hela selected delegates who will represent the local club at the annual convention and heard brief talks by candidates in the coming primary election at the regular meeting held at the Le gion Hall. The session, presided over by President Mary Patterson, opened with members rising and reciting the pledge of alle giance. Chaplain Norma Jean Walters read from John and led members in reciting the Lord Prayer. Routine reports were read and approved. Armida Cooper, chairman of the Sick Committee, reported Josephine Wallace now home from the hospital and Maude Blythe about the same.

She al so reported that the father-in law of a member.Ann Eusepi, and the sister-in-law of another Legionnaires To Honor National Commander Members of the American Legion and the Auxiliary Units will have a testimonial dinner at Webster Hall in Pittsburgh on Friday, April 29, at 6:30 p. m. The guest of honor will be L. Eldon James, national com mander of the American Le gion, which consists of 16,000 American Legion Posts through out the world, with a member- shin of 2.650.000 veterans of World War World War II and the Korean conflict. Commander James, a native of the state of Virginia, served as a Lieutenant in the Naval Reserve during World War II, is a graduate of William and Marv College, active as a trial lawver.

i Tri-County Division of Li censed Practical Nurses Asso ciation of Pennsylvania held its dinner meeting in the Charle- roi Elks Club on Thursday eve ning, April 7. Dinner was served at six o' clock and the decorated tables held a centerpiece of vari-col- ored grapes overflowing from a tall cut glass compote surrounded bv grape leaves and trailing vines. This was flanked by candelabra holding yellow tapers. Favors were waxed cat-thedral windows, in miniature, picturing the Easte rcross, an gel and lamb. A small yellow candle glowed in the back.

Mrs. Kissinger an nounced that the 1966 conven tion would be held May 24-26, in the Benjamin Franklin Hotel, Philadelphia.

Miss Williams will attend as the delegate and Mrs. Ostrander will be the alternate. It was announced that those desiring membership should ask for an application blank from the treasurer. The Executive Board will screen membership applications. There is an assessment fee of $7.00 due upon joining: dues are due in June of each year and are $16.0, Next meeting of the group will be reld on May 5, in the home of Mrs.
