Fred Green Funeral Held Funeral services for Fred W. Green, 52, were held on February at 2 p.m. at the Allison Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jack Hale officiating. Mr.

Green died at Lufkin on Friday. February 11. He was born in Liberty County and had been a resident here until two years ago. He was employed in oil field work. Burial was in the Abshier Cemetery in Ilankamer under the direction of Allison Funeral Service.

Survivors include his mother. Mrs. Nettie Green of Daisetta; one son, Deri W. Green of Honolulu, Hawaii; one daughter, Mrs. Charles Schmidt of Lufkin; two brothers.

David Byford Business Manager Hardin Independent School District 2 17 2c Annual Meet Of Red Cross Attracts 84 Eighty-four were present at the second annual banquet meeting of the Liberty County Chapter of the American Red Cross in city hall auditorium last Thursday night, to hear an addr (ss by Col. Campbell, an official of the regional office of the Veterans Administrate Houston, to hear reports from the county charter and to witness the recognition of outstanding Red Cross volunteers. Dempsie Henley, master of ceremonies introduced the speaker, who gave a concise and picture of the part the American Red Cross plays in the military service at home and abroad the increasing demands jh ii this service, and these demands are being met with aid and support of the public. CARL A. McM'llan county chairman, recognized volunteers who had contributed 100 hours more to Red Cross work.

Although not present, Mrs. C. O. Austin of Cleveland was singled out particularly for her 48 years of volunteer service. Three other residents of Cleveland, all present, were also recognized and thanked for making an office available for the Liberty County chapter for more than three years.
