Doris L. Schmidt Malia January 3, 2010 Leo John Domanski January 3, 2010 Ql- Leo John Domanski, 80, of Dagobert Street, Wilkes-Barre, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010, in Hospice Community Care of Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre. He was born Sept. 15, 1929, Doris L.

Schmidt Malia, 80, of Lee Park passed away Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010, at Hampton House, Hanover Township. She was born in Sayre on Oct. 27, 1929, the daughter of the late George and Sarah Tillman Schmidt. Doris worked as a nurse's aid at Mercy Hospital for 25 years before retiring in 1994.

She was preceded in death by her former husband, Kenneth Malia; son, William Malia; infant daughter, Dorothy May; and brother, William Schmidt. Doris is survived by sons, Dr. Kenneth Malia, Nanti-coke; Robert Malia, Hanover Township; and Thomas Malia, Hanover Township; daughter, Doris Pahler, Wil-kes-Barre; nine grandchildren; and 11 and Gun Club. Leo was a avid hunter, fisherman and golfer. He was self-employed for more than 50 years as a general contractor.

Leo served in World War II in the Navy and was a Third Degree Knight of Columbus Council 3987, Luzerne. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at Piszczek-Desiderio Funeral Home 679 Carey Hanover Township. A 10 a.m. Funeral Mass will follow at St.

Aloysius Church, Barney Street, Wilkes-Barre. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum, Hanover Township. Visitation will be held Wednesday, 6 to 9 p.m., at Piszczek-Desiderio Funeral Home Carey Avenue, Wilkes-Barre. Memorial donations may be made to St.

Aloysius Church Building Fund. Thomas F. Carr January 2, 2010 Darleen F. Schneider January 2, 2010 Darleen Schneider, 54, of Harveys Lake passed away Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

She was born in Brunswick, Maine, on Dec. 31, 1955. She was the daughter of Beverly Jarvis Murphy and the late William Murphy Surviving are her mother, Beverly Murphy, Virginia; companion, David Barber, at home; daughter, Beverly Heinrich, Kingston; sons, Raymond Cahoon Mountain Top; Ryan Cahoon, Harveys Lake; five grandchildren; sisters, Kathleen Davis, Iowa; Marleen Hagan, New Hampshire; Sandra Garrish, South Carolina; Ann Look, Virginia; nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, 6 to 8 p.m., at George A. Strish Inc.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Celia Sapek, Anthony (Tony) Swartz passed away peacefully at home Saturday, Jan.

2, 2010, in Baton Rouge, after a lengthy illness. He was born July 12, 1924 in Pennsylva- nia. After school in Pennsylvania as a young man, he entered officer's candidate school in Connecticut. Upon grad-uating, he became a Marine engineer, working in his profession for 38 Va years. He continued to pursue his education and licensing in numerous cities including Baltimore, New York City and New Orleans.

He served in World War II as a combat veteran. He also served in the Korean, Vietnam and Persian Gulf wars. Melvin E. Feldcamp, 65, of Hanover Township died Monday, Dec. 28, 2009.

He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Wilkes-Barre, and a veteran serving with the U.S. Army He was preceded in death by parents, Bernard and WBVOICEPAGES T25 A prayer service will be held Wednesday at 8 p.m. at Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home 465 S. Main Wilkes-Barre. The Rev James E.

Surviving are his children, Deborah and her husband, James Poperow-itz, Kingston; Patricia and her husband Jim Duffy, Alexandria, Karen Carr, Allentown; and Thomas Carr, Kingston; grandchildren, Kelly and Keaton Carr and Meghan, Eryn and Michael Poper-owitz; and a sister, Claire McNamara, San Diego, Calif.

A celebration of Thomas' life will be held Friday at 9 a.m. from McLaughlin's Family Funeral Service, 142 S. Washington Wilkes-Barre, with a Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Church of St. Ignatius Loyola.

Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call Thursday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial donations are preferred and may be made to the parish of St. Ignatius, 339 N.

After his second retirement, although he missed being an engineer, he loved settling down in Baton Rouge, La.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Walter and Mary Swartz, of Poland. He is survived by his loving wife, Margie Pauline (Polly) Harvey Swartz; son, Anthony James Swartz and his wife, Dot-tie; brother, Stanley Swartz; sisters, Madeline Stefanyak; Irene and her husband, Charlie Falcone; Celia and her husband, Dave Demorat; numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 190 S. Main Thomas Francis Carr, 83, of Rutter Avenue, Kingston, died Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born April 28, 1926, in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late Daniel and Mary Golden Carr.

A 1944 graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, Tom earned his Bachelor of Science degree from East Stroudsburg University and Master of Education degree from Bucknell University. As a professional educator, Tom's teaching career started in the Jim Thorpe School District, where he was a football coach for four years. He retired from Dallas School District after 35 years as a science teacher and guidance counselor. Mr.

Carr was a member of the parish of St. Ignatius Loyola, Bishop William J. Hafey Assembly Fourth Degree, Knights of Columbus Council 302. He was active in coaching with Kingston baseball and served as the first manager and as a board member of the Kingston pool. He also served on the boards of the Catholic Youth Center and Meals on Wheels of Wyoming Valley, for which he was a volunteer.

His wife, Edith Ramsey Carr, died Jan. 12, 2002; Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. from Charles V. Sherbin Funeral Home, 630 Main Road, Hanover Green, Hanover Township. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m.

in Exaltation of the Holy Cross Church, Buttonwood, Hanover Township. The Rev. Andrew Sinnot will officiate. Pallbearers will be nephews, James Turner, Walter Demorat, Michael Stefanyak, George Sudo, Kenny Palmer and Charlie Falcone Jr. Interment will be in St.

Mary's Mausoleum, Hanover Township. Friends may call Wednesday, 6 to 9 p.m., at Charles Sherbin Funeral Home, 630 Main Road, Hanover Green, Hanover Township. Wilkes-Barre. Arrangements are by S.J. Gront-kowski Funeral Home, Plymouth.
