sheriff said he and five detectives were hampered in making the arrest by Mrs Neva Eileen Bratton 32 years old Williams asserted she attempted to prevent the entry- by the deputies into the home and struggled with the sheriff when a search of the house was ordered She was arrested and booked on a charge of harboring a fugitive Detective Leonard Walton said that Mrs Bratton when questioned several and the widow of Jasper Kincaid who ivas active in Kansas Democratic politics from 1908 until he died in 1940 died yesterday at the home of a daughter Mrs Amy Staten Stanley She suffered a stroke Sunday Airs Kincaid was born in Fairfield la and was graduated from Central high school St Louis in 1880 That year she moved to Olathe and she spent the rest of her life in Johnson County When a young woman she taught at Stanley Lenexa and Olathe and several rural schools She attended an elocution school two summers and later she taught other school teachers during the summer months at the Johnson County Normal Institute at Olathe May 13 1891 she Avas married to Jasper Kincaid who was formerly Johnson County clerk Kansas state auditor state representative in 1911-12 for two terms state tax commissioner and at the time of his death an employee of the Reconstruction Finance corporation office here Mrs Kincaid was a member of the old Congregational church at Olathe Also surviving are
