with a total gain of $1610378 Countryside which also sought adjustment from increased assessments reflected a total gain of only $74258 This included a drop from $137000 to $131000 in personal property The real estate valuation was up from $264000 to $341000 Slight Utility Gain The real estate value for the county rose from $84579-600 in 1957 to $89374410 this year The gain in state-assessed utilities including railroad property was up only a little more than 1 million dollars to $21756598 In most rural areas township personal property valuations showed a decrease while in the cities values increased Items include motor cars appliances machinery and merchandise stocks Because the rise in the personal property valuation which is about a third of the property on which ad valorem taxes are levied is in the neighborhood of only 2 million dollars this year over last the decrease in the proposed levy will be limited County agencies will operate on a total of $3084794 for all funds except an additional $154000 for the library system which is not county-wide This will be covered by a levy of $1154 on $100 valuation Last year the levy was $1099 School Levies Increase
