Police Hold Visalian Roos-Atkins Department Store where 17 handguns were stolen, police said. Leif Kloster, 27, allegedly dropped the weapons, valued at $3,000, when he was surprised by an officer. Kloster was captured after a brief chase. Investigators said Kloster admitted breaking into the same store July 3, when five handguns were stolen. One of the weapons from the July theft was found later in Kloster's home, officers said.

Visalian Reports Knifepoint Theft A rural Visalia man told police a young man robbed him at knifepoint early Sunday while he slept in his auto outside a N. Dinuba Boulevard tavern.

Charles Obra of 32117 N. Floral Ave. said the robber, a man in his 20s, accosted him and stole his car keys and wallet. Police said the victim had no money in the wallet. Burned County firemen he had pumped 19 gallons of fuel into an underground tank when it began to overflow.

When Willingham withdrew the nozzle, sparks touched off the explosion which set fire to the delivery man's clothing. Firemen said neighbors grabbed Willingham, extinguished his clothing and took him to Hanford's Sacred Heart Hospital for treatment. He was later transferred to the burn center at Valley Medical Center. The explosion also touched off fires which gutted a garage at the residence owned by Eugene Pimentel. Two Wounded; Deputies Jail County Resident A Porterville man is being held today in connection with the shooting Sunday of two Lindsay men after a quarrel over a dice game.

Booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon was Robert Orosco, 37. Treated at Lindsay District Hospital and released were Efren H. Quintero, 45, and Alvino Rodriguez, 36. The victims told officers they were involved in the dice game with Orosco at a Lindsay labor camp when an altercation ensued. Monday, October 21, 1974 Visalia Times-Delta 11-A Herbert A.

Morton Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Miller Memorial Chapel in Visalia for Herbert A. Morton, 50, of Visalia, who was struck by a truck and killed Thursday near Bakersfield. Burial will be in the Visalia Cemetery. Mr.

Morton, who had lived in Visalia the last few years, was a native of Pueblo, Mex. In 1925 he and his family moved to the Los Angeles area. He served in the Army in World War II. He married Gladys Irene Maule in Tonopah, in 1956. Mrs.

Morton died last February. Mr. Morton was a retired telephone company district manager. He is survived by his mother, Dixie Lee Morton of Visalia, and two brothers, David Morton of Visalia and Andrew Morton of Hollywood. Jose Hernandez Services are pending for Jose Hernandez, 27, of Visalia who died Sunday in his home after a lengthy illness.

Sequoia Forest Crash Kills Copter Pilot A pilot killed when his logging helicopter crashed Saturday near Red Mountain in Sequoia National Forest has been identified as Frank Park, 55, of Ferndale. Seriously injured when the craft plummeted to the ground Jerry Williams, 29, of Marysville. He is in a Bakerhospital. Officials said the chopper was hauling logs out of the forest to a loading area when it lost power and crashed, causing a 10-acre forest fire.

Williams was a crane operator on the craft. The youth was arrested on the basis of a description of the auto allegedly driven by the rapist. Police said the girl told them she was with a girl friend near her W. Walnut Avenue apartment when a young man persuaded her and the friend to accompany him to North Visalia. After a short drive, the driver asked the victim's friend to go to a house and ask to see one of the young man's friends, police said, but when the girl friend left the car, the driver sped away. He drove to a rural spot, assaulted the girl and then dropped her at Murray Street and Giddings Avenue, the victim told officers.
