Gair Jr. Dies: Industrialist's Son Head of Two Corporations -Golf, Bridge Enthusiast Member of Many Clubs Syosset, Nov. 5--Robert Gair Jr. died of heart failure Wednesday night in his sleep, at his home here. Mr.

Gair was the the the the son Robert Gair, inventor of the modern method of manufacturing folding cartons and founder of the Robert Gair Company, Inc. He was born in Brooklyn on Sept. 6, 1881. After finishing high school, he went to work with his father when about 16 years of age and worked his way up to the vice presidency. After his father's death, he relinquished his connection with the Robert Gair to become president of CorporaCompany, tion and president of Gair Properties, Inc.

He married Jean Adams of Brooklyn. Surviving are his widow, his two children, Elizabeth and Brenda Gair; his brother, George West Gair of Greens Farms, chairman of the board, Robert Gair Company, and his sisters. Mrs. Edward Sweeney, Miss M. Elizabeth Gair, Dr.

E. Florence Gair, all of New York, and Mrs. William Gill of South Orange, N. J. William Danmar William Danmar, architect, of 89-05 138th Jamaica, died yesterday at the Jamaica Hospital at the age of 84, following an operation for appendicitis.

Mr. Danmar, who was born in Denmark, formerly resided in Brooklyn. He was the first president of the New York Call and the last 30 years had been a manufacturer of concrete trimming. Surviving is his widow, Mathilda Danmar. Funeral services will be held at the Fairchild Chapel, 8931 164th tomorrow at 8 p.m.

Frederick A. Mohrmann, long resident of Brooklyn, died yesterday at his home, 1524 Brooklyn at the age of 67.

He had been employed by the Borden Company for 30 years and had been retired for the 15 years. He was of a America member and of Steuben Society the Zion Lutheran Choir for 48 years. Surviving are his widow, Elizabeth Mohrmann, and two sons, Carl and Frederick, Mohrmann Jr. Funeral be held at the Fairchild Chapel, 86 Lefferts Place, on Sunday at' 8 p.m. Interment will be in Lutheran Cemetery on Monday at 10 a.m.

James J. Boyle, 40- Ex-Customs Man Boro Resident Dies at 69 -Son of Noted Welfare Worker--Rites Monday James J. Boyle, retired Federal employe, died yesterday at his home, 1019 E. 21st St. He was 69.

He was the son of the late Theresa McQuade Boyle, nationally known as the "Angel of Castle Garden" to the older generation for her contribution to the assistance of Irish immigrant girls. He was recently retired after 42 years with the Appraiser's Office of the Port of New York. Until the past few years he was active in Brooklyn politics, and prior to that in New York and Greenpoint politics. He was a member of Andrew Jackson Democratic Club and A charter member of the old Fidelity Council, K. of C.

He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Ann T. Doyle, Mrs. Mildred F. Dickman, Mrs.

Vera Connors and Mrs. Mary R. Breen of Ridgewood, N. J. Funeral services will be held on Monday morning at 8:30 o'clock, with requiem mass at Our Lady Help of Christians R.

C. Church and interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Charles Johnson, Retired Gardener Charles O. Johnson. 54. retired landscape gardener, died yesterday of pneumonia at his home, 73 Buffalo Ave.

Mr. Johnson, who was a lifelong resident of Brooklyn, was member of the 17th A. D. Regular Democratic Organization and Democratic captain of the 35th Election District. Surviving are three sons, Charles, William and Richard Johnson, and two daughters, Mrs.

Catherine Fash and Mrs. Marion Tenner. Captains and members of the Democratic organization will meet outside the home on Sunday at 8 p.m. A solemn requiem mass will be held at the R. C.

Church of St. Benedict at 10 a.m. on Monday, Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. KILLED HITCHING RIDE Bernard Tranziski, 17, of 1522 Jefferson Ave. was killed today when, according to police, he fell from truck on which he was hitching a was crushed under the rear right wheel.

The driver of truck, the which was going south along Broadway near Ralph Ave. at the time, did not stop, apparently unaware of the accident. Police of the Ralph Ave. station are investigating. Obituaries MICHAEL J.

MURPHY, who had been employed by the Herald Tribune for 35 years, died on Wednesday at the Kings County Hospital at the age of 71. Mr. Murphy, who WAS a resident of Brooklyn for 31 years, lived at 221 45th St. Surviving are his widow, Margaret Murphy; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Clemett, and seven sons, John, Cornelius, Michael, James, Dennis, Walter and Joseph Murphy.

JULIA A. GUERIN, 78. a resident of Brooklyn for over 60 years, died at the Adelphi Hospital yesterday from pneumonia. Mrs. Guerin, who was born in Ireland, lived at 1365 Union St.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Mary A. Weiss and Honora and Helen Guerin. A solemn requiem mass will be held at St. Gregory's R.

Surviving are her husband, Frederick W. Erich; two sons, Robert C. and F. Walter Erich: two sisters, Martha and Marie Timmermann; Christian and Carl Timmermann, and a granddaughter, Jane Erich. Funeral services will be held at the Stutzmann Funeral Parlors, 94-58 221st Queens Village, tomorrow at 2:30 p.m.

Fitzgerald, retired Lieutenant of the New York Police Department, died yesterday at his home, 2047 Haring at the age of 73. He was born in Manhattan and had lived in Brooklyn for 65 years. Lieutenant Fitzgerald was A member of the Royal Arcanum, Police Veterans Association, Lieutenants Benevolent Association, Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society of the R. C. Church of Good Shepherd.

He was the son of the late Maurice and Ellen Fitzgerald and is survived by brother, Timothy, and two sisters, Mary and Catherine Fitzgerald. Funeral services will held at the home tomorrow. A solemn requiem mass will be held at the Church of the Good Shepherd at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Chief Inspects Naval Reserve Freeport, Nov.

5 Capt. James H. C. Smyth, founder, national commander of the Junior. Naval Reserve, inspected the Freeport battalion last night in the gymnasium of Archer Street School.

He made a plea to Naval Reserve officers in the community to take an interest in the Junior reserve, pointing out its value in training boys to become good citizens. The boys were drilled by Commander Guy A. Russel. Other of- ficers are Lieut. Com.

Herman O. Mosenthal, of Columbia University, told the annual graduate fortnight of the New York Academy of Medicine that the disease, a major cause of death, was not caused by excessive protein or carbohydrate foods, alcohol in moderation, the presence of high-blood sugar, or overweight. He defined the disease as a tional disorder, characterized by a progressively increasing elevation of arterial pressure, and noted that the "mechanical strain" incidental to its Mrs. T.
