Church of Jesus Christ Preaching a The "Happy Harvesters" class of the Presbyterian Sunday school, taught by Miss Harriet Hazzard, met last evening with Mrs. Edgar Leyda in Fourth street. The attendance was good and in the absence of the president, Mrs. William Chattaway the teacher officiated and conducted the devotional exercises. The minutes were read by the secretary, Miss Helen McCurdy, and the first business matter taken up was the election of a president to succeed Mrs.

Chattaway who has removed from the city which resulted in the choice of Miss Rosalie Boggs. Mrs. Chattaway was complimented by the class electing her honorary president. Some time ago the girls sent picture scrap books to a mission in China and last evening an interesting letter of acknowledgment and thanks, written by the teacher of the mission, was read. In serving refreshments, Mrs.

Leyda was assisted by Mrs. J. C. Brisbine. 10:30 m.

R. Day has issued warrants for about one hundrded. residents of Monongahela who have either neglected or refused to pay there taxes. These warrants are in the hands of deputy collectors, and will be executed. Two young men could not produce the necessary cur-rnccy are now in the Monongahela lockup and will be taken to the Washington jail.
