Mgt. 1597 Fulton St. Thomas Fitzgerald, WILLIAM HENRY DIES; Boro Detective AUTHORITY ON ASTRONOMY Thomas F. Fitzgerald, a first grade detective, who for the last year had been assigned to the District Attorney's Office, died yesterday at Norwegian Hospital. He was 57 and lived at 1329 E.

29th St. Mr. Fitzgerald, a lifelong resident of Brooklyn, had been a member of the Police Departfor the last 36 years. Prior to his assignment to the District Attorney's Office he was attached to the Empire Boulevard Station. He also had served at Manhattan Police Headquarters.

He was a ber of the Holy Name Society of the Police Department and the Brooklyn Lodge of Elks. Surviving are his widow. Mrs. Anna Fitzgerald; two daughters. Martha Leonard and Edna Fitzgerald: his mother, Mrs.

Margaret Fitzgerald: three sisters, Mrs. Catherine Schrimp. ton, Mrs. Marion Tracey, and Mrs. Margaret Olsen, and a brother, Edward Fitzgerald.

Gilbert, 85, Retired Teacher Funeral services for Ida I. Gilbert. 85. who formerly taught at Public School 77. 2d St.

She lived at the Presbyterian Guest House, 153 Lincoln Place. Her sister. A. Louise Gilbert, a teacher at the Berkeley Institute, 181 Lincoln Place, died in 1941. Charities Left $2,750,000 in Will Mineola, April 7-A bequest of $2.750.000 for organized charlities by the late Mrs.

Marguerite Sawyer Davis of Glen Head was revealed today with the filing of her will for probate in Surrogate's Court. Mrs. Davis, who died in Kansas City March 18. left the portion of her $9,000.000 estate to her husband. Charles Blevin Davis, a New York theatrical producer.

Mrs. Davis also set up scholarship funds of $60.000 each for the Hill School. Pottsdown, and the School, Southboro. memorials to her sisPave ter's son. the late James Gillison.

Thirty three other bequests, ranging from $1,000 to $50,000 and totaling $350,000, were made to friends and relatives, while 14 employes were also mentioned in the will. The $9.000.000 estimate placed on the estate was more than double that of the estate left to her by her former husband, James N. Hill, who died in 1932. George F. Sloan of Munsey Park, an attorney, was named executor.

Dempsey of Chicago from the estate of Ernest Flagg, who designed and built the structure. The property valued at $2,100, 000 was conveyed in an all cash transaction negotiated by James J. Raynolds, of Manhattan as broker. There are six 10- story buildings in the group comprising a plot 200x700 feet. They contain 425 apartment suites in addition to an auditorium seating 500 persons.

Mr. Flagg. well-known architect. laid out the garden style project with a swimming pool in the center of the court-yard. Also included are tennis courts, a handball court, bowling alleys, kindergarten classrooms, boys' and girls' clubs and roof terraces.

Some of the buildings were constructed in 1933 and the rest of the project was completed in 1937. The property is reported to have a yearly rental of $310,000. Ralph B. A graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Mr. Williams first served for a number of years as a mining engineer in South America, Australia. Mexico and ih the western part of the United States. In 1916 he became associated with the Metal and Thermit Corporation, a mining concern in Manhattan, as a consulting engineer, and settled in Garden City. In 1919 he became general manager of the American Rutile Corporation followits absorption by Metal and Thermit and was elected a director and its president some years later.

He was a Mason and was a member of the United Engineering Trustees, the American Institute of Mining Engineers, the Mining and Metallurgical Society of America and the Mining Club. He also was a member of the University Club and the Cherry Valley Golf Club. A son, Ralph Brewster Williams; a brother, Chester P. Williams, and a sister. Mrs.
