ORDEH8 rilOMPTLI ATTENDED TO. AND Two Ambulance Corps Nurses Are Dismissed and ManyKesina-tlons Are Sent In. There la trouble brewing lu the Red Cross Soiietr and in its ambulance corps. Last Friday two nurses received letters from heailounrters dismissing them from the corns. One of these is Miss Catherine Mae Ian-en, who Is now ill at the Polyclinic Hos pital as the result of exposure nnd overworn during her connection with the ambulance corps.

Miss Machirren's dismissal Is at the In stance of the head nurse, who reported her for being on duty after hours. A man In her cure was dying of hemorrhage, and when her period of duty was up he was In such a condition that she decided to stay In the ward. Miss Bohnic. the head nurse, had. It Is alleged, objected to the amount of attention this man was receiving on the ground that his case was hnpeless aud that the attention of the nurses could better be plveu other patients.

The matter was reported to the officer in charge and Miss Maclarren was culled In. She was then 111 with a severe cold ami unable to make the explana tion she would have done, and after some words she left the office. A telegram was then sent to the hendnmirters requesting the dismissal of Miss Maclarren and Miss Bartholomew, another nurse. What Miss Bartholomew's offense Is has not been given out. but the supposition Is that, she made public some facts which the ottieera of the corps wished kept ipilet during her visit to Philadelphia one day Inst week.

Until the nurses dismissed have had excellent training and experience. It is understood that this is not the only trouble In the lied Cross Society, for It is stilted thnt next Monday, which marks the end of the nrst month, the original ambulance corps which left Philadelphia villi be a thing of the past, notwithstanding they contracted for year. Five of the utility men left lust week and It Is reported that three will go to day. It Is understood that Mrs. Rowley.

Miss Reby. Miss McClelland. Miss Irwin nnd Miss McGlnnis will return next week and several others have signified their intention of doing the same. Mr. Wilkes O'Neill is also reported to have tendered his resignation as commander of the corps.

In the meantime the different members of the Executive Board shift the responsibility and It Is said that many resignations will yet be sent in. Aeed Man Commits Suicide.
