Ou Sunday night, during a beer fijflit at the Patch, a fair ladie formerly known as Miss Minnie Rockwell, hailing from Iirownsville, was shot in the leg. It is said by those who know, that it was not a very pretty leg, but good enough to be shot at.

At least the pistol ball was lodged in the limb, and Minnie said it was a Minnie-ball. She fainted and the men who were mixed in Lho shooting, left for Minneapolis, or some other place, and the lady is deserted and forsaken, and is the only pebble in the patch. The reputation of this lady has suffered cruelly at the hands of rumor. She is the alleged wife of Rome Gourley, but has many husbands, by brevet and otherwise, so that she has not "tied her nose to one fair rose" for any long period of time. Thus far no arrests have been made.

The lady is at present said to be undergoing repairs to her leg. Died in California. Samuel M. Davis died in California, on Monday, June ISth. He was born on the Dick Richardson farm, near lientleysville, 73 years ago, and was a carpenter by trade.
