This summer; Cora-Ann Mihalik was on the receiving end. The popular network newscaster accepted a Legacy Award and volunteering at local soup kitchens. The insurance firm was also lauded for its work in promoting education, particularly through its LEAD (Learn, Educate, Advanced Degree) program, which allows employees to become fully registered WPU students pursuing accelerated bachelors or graduate degrees. Thus far; nearly 400 State Farm employees are university students or graduates.

The largest property insurer in the United States, the company began providing service to New Jersey residents in 1940. It opened its Northeastern office in Wayne in 1961, and formed a State Farm Indemnity Company in 1992 to provide service solely to New Jersey customers. If John and Judy Jasionowicz are beaming with pride, its because their son, Jodi, recently received an award for excellence from the Delaware Valley Society of Oral and Maxilloficial Surgery. Residents of Mountaintop, John and Judy formerly lived in Rutherford. Co-author of a self help tutorial CD-ROM in the field of neuroanatomy, Jodi was awarded a bachelors degree in biology from the University of Scranton in 1997.

This spring, he received his DMD degree magna cum laude from the Temple University School of Dentistry. During his stay at Temple, Jodi volunteered his time to provide indigent people in Haiti with dental services. Lead guitarist in the band, Search for More, Jodi was active in Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a national dental honor society, the Oral and Maxillofacial Honor Society and theStomatognathic Honor Society. His plans for the future? He will enroll in the M.D. degree integrated residency program at the Center of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center You can be sure that his grandparents, Mr.

While she has received many honors in the past, the WPU citation was especially meaningful for the co-anchor of UPN 9 News. Mihalik graduated from William Paterson in 1976 with a bachelors degree in communications. During award ceremonies, Mihalik was lauded for her work with Muscular Dystrophy and the New Jersey Lung Associations, Big Sisters of America and the Queens Chapter of the American Cancer Society, and for tackling executive duties as a member of the board of directors of the New York Leukemia Society. Cited many times for her work in communications, the Elmwood Park native received an Excellence in Journalism Award from the Cleveland Press Club for public service and was nominated for an Emmy for political reporting at WLS-TV in Chicago. Since her graduation from William Paterson, Mihalik has been a pacesetter in broadcast journalism. First network anchor of Fox News at Seven and one of the originators of the syndicated hit magazine series, A Current Affair, she was the first woman to work in the newsroom and handle duties as an anchor, reporter and Calendar Special to the Herald News Dr.

During award presentations, Northeastern Regional Office workers were applauded for building' homes for Habitat for Humanity, taking part in food and toy drives, conducting safety programs in local schools, assisting at Special Olympics programs producer for a station in Spring-field, Mass. A former newscaster for stations in the Midwest, Mihalik served as co-anchor of The 10 Oclock News on WNYWFox Channel 5 before joining WWOR-TV in 1998 as a weekend coanchor of the UPN 9 News.

Parkinson Support Group MONTCLAIR The Parkinson Support Group of North Jersey will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15 in the private dining room at Mountainside Hospital, Bay Avenue. Vision Conference WHIPPANY The Adjustment to Vision Loss Project (AVL) and Soldoveri has also been active in the Totowa and North Jersey Chambers of Commerce and has served as a volunteer for a number of charitable organizations in the Passaic-Bergen area. His efforts have not gone unnoticed. He received a Good Scout Award from the Altaha Council of Boy Scouts of America and a Distinguished Service Award from the Passaic Valley Jaycees.
