Mr. Carter is a graduate of St. James School, and the University of Virginia and is engaged in business in Baltimore. and Mrs. Carter will be at home after the 1st of November at "Mostly Hill," 7515 Falls Road, Baltimore.

Contemporary Comment IS the keynote of the decorative scheme designed for the St. Joseph's College Alumnae party on Friday. In the auditorium the orchestra will play behind a crystal bar while the rest of the room will suggest various cocktail glasses and shakers of brilliant hues on a background of silver. TIME IT paid well to be a winner. A unique dinner at the Towers Hotel was given recently by a business organization at the close of a sales contest.

The guests were seated at a long table, the winners on one side and the losers opposite them. Mr. Walker's father was professor of clinical surgery at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University and for many years attending surgeon the Bellevue Hospital and the Hospital for the Ruptured and Crippled. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal for his army service in France during the World War and retired as a colonel. The couple left immediately for the Pacific Coast.

Gillen of 8024 Colonial Road, has selected Friday, Nov. 26, as the date for her marriage to Frank J. McDermott son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank J.

McDermott of 250 Park Plec. The ceremony will be performed at 10 a.m. in the Church of Our Lady of Refuge. Miss Gillen was educated at St. Angela Hall and the Visitation Convent.
