Exeter Borough is beginning to assume the appearance of the thriving business town, which in reality it is. Only this year have the business men awakened to the realization that if they are up to date they must improve the appearance of their business places and make them more inviting to customers. A new chapter in the Sunday law enforcement agitation in Nantlcoke was written today, when Sheriff L. IV Kniffen received Jetter from Wil liam P.

Burke, of that town, demand ing that the Sunday blue laws be en forced in every particular. In response to letters from church people, the sheriff had announced that he would prohibit Sunday ball games. The writer declared that if baseball were prohibited on the Sabbath, everything else coming within the rigid line of the blue laws should be banned. Meanix, formerly of Colby College, set a new world's time of 54 3 5 seconds for the 410 yard hurdles. Both Taber and Meanix ran under the colors of the Boston Athletic Association.

The former amateur mile record was 4 minutes 14 2 5 seconds, made on the same track by John Paul Jones of Cornell In 1912, Taber running second.
