Charles Cavanaugh Businessman, Expires Charles Cavanaugh 401 South Webster Avenue, well known South Scranton businessman, died yesterday afternoon 'In the family home after six weeks' illness. Surviving are his widow; son, Charles two daughters, Dorothy and Mary; three brothers, James, Paul and Francis; three sisters, Ann, Mary and Catherine, the latter a teacher in No. 2 School, Orchard Street.

James Fox James Fox, 1424 Hollow Avenue, died yesterday in the family home after several months' illness. He WaS a member of Holy Rosary Church and its Holy Name Society, Surviving are his widow; daughter, Isabelle; two sons, James and William; his mother, Mrs. Isabelle Fox; three sistors, Mrs. Rose Conway, Mrs. James McShaffery and Mrs.

Thomas Hopkins, and two brothers, Cornelius and Patrick Fox. The funeral will be held Saturday morning with requiem mass in Holy Rosary Church. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery. Michael Cadden Michael Cadden, 607 Meridian Avenue, who was engaged in the ice and coal delivery business for many years, died yesterday in the State Hospital after 8 long illness. He Was ber of Holy Cross Church and its Holy Name Society.

Besides his widow, he leaves daughter, Mary; six sons, John, Michael James, Joseph, Eugene and William, and tour brothers, James, Joseph, Patrick and Paul Cadden. Members of Federation Urging Fire Prevention An active part in the observance of Fire Prevention Week is being taken oy members of the Lackawanna County Volunteer Firemen's Federation, according to an announcement made last night by Schuyler Kase, president of the federation.

He stated that posters urging the observance of the week have been erected at schools, business places and fire houses throughout the country. President Kase will give 8 talk on fire prevention at meeting tonight in the Eagle Hose Company rooms, Dickson City. He gave similar talk on Tuesday night at the Engine and Hose Company, No. 1 Hall, Taylor. The movement to prevent fires will be continued in the county throughout the year, Mr.

Kase declared, GLIDER CLUB MEETS Field activities of the Albatross Glider Club have been discontinued for the Fall and Winter and will be resumed next Spring, it was announced at the meeting of the club in its new headquarters, 327 South Sherman Avenue, on Tuesday evening. Plans are underway for constructing secondary airplane during the winter. Weekly meetings of the club are held at the headquarters on Tuesday evenings. Matuszewski, pastor of St. Mary's REV. V. S. MATUSZEWSKI Church, Greenwood, was tendered banquet last night in Hotel Casey with more than 400 parishioners and other friends attending.

More than fifty priests from various parts of the Scranton Diocese among those present. John add, father of the jubilarian, who in his eighty -seventh year, came here from Johnson City, N. Y. to attend the celebration. For the last six years Father Matussewski has been located at the Greenwood Church and during that time has done much to promote the welfare of the parish and its school.

He also led the movement to beautify the parish cemetery. Invocation was offered at the banquet by the Very Rev. Andrew Zychowics, South Scranton. BenJamin Zukowski introduced the Rev. John Witucki as toastmaster.

Remarks were made by the Rev, F. J. Flynn, Minooka; the Rev. Joseph Pliny, the Rev. J.

J. Losienieckt, and the Rev. F. X. Kurkowski.

The incipal spear was Attorney E. A. DeLoney, Carbondale. Solos were rendered by Miss Lou Wilkes-Barre, and Anthony J. Dobrydney.

Prof. A. Biela waki directed the choir. Greetings in behalf of the boys and girls of the parish were extended by Miss Evangeline Zalewska; for the choir by Miss Anna Zukowska, and for the sodality by Miss Anna Marciski, A gift was presented to the honored guest by Benjamin Zukowski on behalf of the parish following which Father Matuszewski responded. A silver anniversary mass was sung in the jubilarian's church yesterday morning.
